Writers can use their words to create something powerful and thought provoking. This book failed in so many ways. With the means to reach others with a powerful message the author chooses to use the same old narrative of young women getting raped and of course the message hasn’t changed. Attitudes about rape haven’t changed especially in this book. Change the narrative to reflect the real message that rape isn’t ok and others should support the victim. This story has been told over and over. Do your job as an author and use your words to change the narrative!!

Não compreendo este booking ter sido best seller com personagens vapidas e uma escrita extremamente lenta e aborrecida. Demorei imenso tempo a acabar e só o fiz por querer saber o que acontecia no final... Para acabar desiludido com a forma como acabou apressado depois de páginas e páginas a falar em como a protagonista descrevia a própria dieta, o cabelo da mãe ou a roupa do empregado de mesa do restaurante aleatório num dos capítulos. Meh.

Woooowwww... what a long 12 hours that was. [Audiobook].
I felt like this book was all over the place and took forever to get to the point. Only one small part of the book that had me invested... then that quickly died away.
Ending felt rushed as if the author had a deadline to meet. I had to google the ending as I was left feeling very confused.
Wouldn't recommend. Going to watch the movie tomorrow and see if it's any better!

I've read a lot of reviews comparing this to [b:Gone Girl|19288043|Gone Girl|Gillian Flynn|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1397056917s/19288043.jpg|13306276], and it seems to suffer by the comparison. Although I've meant to get to it for a while, I haven't read Gone Girl yet, and without that point of comparison, I thought this book was very good.
Liked, verged on loved, until the end....no spoilers, but it just wasn't what I wanted or needed from this book!
