This is definitely not the type of book I generally pick up to read. Some of it was hard to swallow, but my guess is that any religious-type person would probably be much more accepting of it. The writing was okay, but the plot was very predictable, which I do not like at all.
Such a wonderful story. It is a story for people who believe in God or not. God definitely has a main part in the book but it's not a religious book. It's about a little girl who has religious things happen to her and a mother who isn't sure what she believes. Great book.
Another Picoult...I seem to get sucked into these! This one was ok, but I don't think one of her best, yet I keep reading them. :) They are good quick reads and all on very different topics so that is interesting.
I usually love this author, but i dont think this was one of her best. It was super slow to get into. Finally, near the end of the middle, it got interesting, but then the end was too eh. hmm well reading some commentary made me think twice about the end. so now i'm not sure. still..
I haven't read a Jodi Picoult book in a while so I was excited to dig into one of her older books that I have had on my shelf forever. Great story, pretty quick read. I enjoyed the different aspects of the story. All and all, great book!
Very clear, strong writing style. This author doesn't disappoint the reader. Even when you read the description of her books and figure it isn't a topic you'd be interested in, you find yourself drawn into the story and the characters anyway. Highly recommended and looking forward to her new book, Handle With Care.
I was really drawn in by this book and found it incredibly interesting. I like Jodi Picoult books a lot (though some more than others), but I do wish she wouldn't continually paint the main female character to be so meager and weak. This formula of the woman being so helpless, but then she gets "built up" in the story..it's overplayed. All women aren't THIS weak. Sigh.

I love this kind of book. It has the subject of religion in it but it is not about religion. It's about faith, but not just in a god. It is really a book that makes you think!
