This was a slow but compelling read for me. I wanted to know what was going to happen, but it wasn’t a “can’t put this book down” experience. This story was interesting to me because of how it approached belief in God and modern day miracles. If a miracle happened today, how would the world perceive it? In this story we explore how the Catholic community, the Jewish community, media, and others would interpret it. Mental Heath, suicide, depression, medical diagnosis, divorce, all are explored in this story.
I've come to love Jodi Picoult's thorough writing style, you can tell how much research she delves into for her books. Very fascinating from both the Catholic & Mother perspective.

It started off very slow for me but did pick up towards the end. I was confused with the ending but think that the point is to decide for yourself.
Definitely not a favorite. I just couldn't identify with the characters and although the plot of the story was interesting, it just didn't grab me like Picoult's other stories have.
I had read some so so reviews on this book so I was expecting something I'd have to struggle through to finish. I was surprised and happy to find I was easily sucked into the story line of this book. I thought she did a great job in keeping the plot line flowing, there was never a spot in the story where it dragged on and gave you unneeded information. I do wish she would have expanded more on the ending I have a few questions I would have liked answered. Overall though, great story!
Highly provocative, absorbing story about 7-year-old girl who starts seeing God (in female form, no less), performing miracles, and developing stigmata, resulting in bitter, suspenseful custody battle.
omg I love this woman!!!!!!!!!! everything she writes just blows me away this is no acceptation I cant tell you anything about it because its just one of those books you have to READ. I will say this though, anyone who is into theology will love this book

While it was worth reading, this was not one of Picoult's better books. It felt a little too after-school-special and formulaic. Her usual twisty endings felt forced and weak in this story. I still enjoyed it, but after reading some of her other works, this one left me a little disappointed and didn't have me asking as many questions of myself afterwards.
Another wonderful story from Jodi Picoult! Loved it!
