dark tense fast-paced

Predictable ending? Both yes and no.

I think the is it/isn't it evil trope would be more scary. But I appreciate the protagonist's initiative to get out of the situation instead of just waiting for things to happen to him.

The description of the supernatural elements is not effective/solid.

Loved this. Love an altered reality story that’s real spooky

While this book was a horror it didn't really make me feel scared, although there was horror to be had, as well as it being thrilling. Overall, I liked this book even though it was terribe time for the main guy. I might read again one day

I was drawn in by the premise of the story it was a fast paced story and I was confused on some parts but the concept of the book drew me in and I found this story to be interesting

Oooooh this novella was really good and I really liked the author's writing style. Since I saw the move Vivarium first (though it came out a few years later) this reminded me of that same type of premise - raising a child that isn't yours - but with an even more sinister note. I'm definitely going to look into more of this author's writings, this really was fantastic.
