this veers into amazingly well written eldritch horror that caught me completely by surprise. my only gripe with this story is that i want more.

I mean this one wasn't that great, the main antagonist is really just a whiny kid and the twist ending isn't really that much of a twist that leaves a "sour" taste in your mouth.

Fast, unsettling take on folklore creatures like Changelings.

Super quick, fun, creepy read. Really liked it!

Cw: language and a small bit of gore at the end.

I’m never normally a fan of short stories, but this one was great! I was expecting plot twists due to the build up, and the lack of plot twist was one in itself. I definitely expected Phil to have gone insane and this was his real son. Great writing!
dark

hmmm, this was fine but forgettable.
Mostly I will remember the throwaway half-line mentioning domestic abuse that came in right at the end that seemed completely unnecessary and unaddressed. Weird.

Once again, Kealan Patrick Burke has produced an amazing novella, one with an ending that I didn't expect. Like usual, this is best to go into not really knowing anything.
