I love when a book ends and it makes you so excited to start the next book in the series to see what else happens. That’s how I felt after finishing this book, which happens to be the second in the series. This book was a mix of all things I enjoy ready - romance, mystery, murder, and a little fantasy. I was shocked when I went looking for the series in Barnes & Noble and found them in mystery not romance. I’m excited to read the next book!

Didn’t like this one as much as the first but still want to continue. But I’ll save the other books for rainy days (when I need an easy read)

This was cute but not quite as endearing as the first book in the series. If you need something light and uplifting, this might be a good read for you, but this won’t make any top read lists for me.

A fun edition to this series I very much enjoy! I love that we start to see some of Vero's backstory here and we see some character growth from a few people but the mystery and twists still kept coming. The most unrealistic part to me are Finlay's book deadlines... shes expected to pump out two books within a few months of each other??
After absolutely loving [b:Finlay Donovan Is Killing It|53138099|Finlay Donovan Is Killing It (Finlay Donovan, #1)|Elle Cosimano|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1659447956l/53138099._SY75_.jpg|79311104], I was hoping to get more of the same fun and silliness of book one from Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead. It was more of the same, but just...worse.
I honestly wouldn't say the plot of this is much different at all than book one, but just not as compelling, fun, or believable. There's a lot of suspension of disbelief with this series, but there were gaping plot holes in this I couldn't ignore. For example, how can so many people want one person dead?? The amount of culprits for all the mysterious figures in this book like the people on the murder-for-hire forum was silly.
I would have hoped that Elle Cosimano would feel the need to amp things up for book 2, but this feels like a classic case of book 2 syndrome. Based on the ARC reviews, [b:Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun|60784612|Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun (Finlay Donovan, #3)|Elle Cosimano|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1652631409l/60784612._SY75_.jpg|95849398] seems like it kind of just drags things out more, when really I think this series would have been better off as a duology or trilogy. Maybe I'll pick book 3 up when it comes out, but only if the series ends at book 4.
