Really fun art style but this could have used some more pages. Great little graphic novel for middle grade to start conversations though!

Beautiful drawings, but the storytelling was a bit simplistic to me.
Still a nice message and loved the character.

Easy fast read.

A cute little quickie! Teases at something deeper, but only really explores the complexities of the intersection of in-game and real-world economics on a fairly surface level. The art, however, is quite pretty and the story is approached with sincerity. Overall, charming and fun.

That was surprisingly good. I think it could've been better if it were a little longer, but I liked it a lot!

This is a cute gaming story that demonstrates the importance of kindness and looking outside yourself to help others. Anda gets swept into the world of online gaming where she meets a mentor in the game who starts showing her the online world and how they can make some real life money by cleaning up the gold farmers who are taking advantage people with more money than time and patience. However, when she actually gets to talk to one of the gold farmers she realises similarities between their worlds and problems they’re facing and how poverty prevents the resources she has in dealing with them for her new gold farming friend. The story definitely emphasises important morals around bullying and what is right, however, they never felt forced or in your face.

The art style was very nice. I definitely preferred the in game art over the real life ones.

My friend who recommended this book said that you didn't have to be a gamer to appreciate the story, and I agree with her to some extent. There are some marvelous aspects of this graphic novel, such as the fact that some of the female characters are portrayed as the antithesis of the super-skinny video game girl. I also think there are some interesting thematic elements of cultural appropriation and the white savior complex.

However, I found myself unable to fully immerse myself in the plot because I wasn't sure what was "the game" and what was "reality." I couldn't enter the central plight of the story because I didn't understand where/how it was grounded in reality.

This is a really cute story with gorgeous artwork. As a woman who has been playing games since I was little kid, it was a cool and interesting take on gaming in today’s world with real life consequences brought to light.

It’s a heartfelt story that really makes you think about gaming and how it affects real life.
