Shocking ending. Swear.

Wow. I enjoyed this ride so much. I'm not sure if I said this in my review of Skeleton Creek already, but these two books combined the experiences of watching a horror film and reading a thriller/mystery at the same time. Internet access required!

Even though the intended audience is young adults, I recommend this to adult YA fiction-lovers. Has elements to satisfy film-junkies, bloggers, writers, lit majors, horror fanatics, people into alchemy, ghost stories, and research...basically every variety of nerd.

And happily ever after, there are no more books in the series, so everything's RESOLVED and I don't have to wait & buy. Yay!

Satisfying. Period.

The second book in the Skeleton Creek series. This series has an ingenious hook in that there are videos that go along with the book which can be accessed through a website listed in the book. Ryan and Sarah must solve the mystery of the old dredge before it is destroyed. Can they find the missing gold? Can they escape the ghost of Joe Bush? The ending will surprise you. Boys and girls will enjoy this series.

I loved Skeleton Creek and could not wait to read Ghost in the Machine after the cliffhanger ending of Skeleton Creek. I managed to read this book and watch all of the videos in a day because it is so entertaining and amazing.

In a way Ghost in the Machine reminded me a little of the movie Disturbia because it's so full of suspense that you have to keep reading it to know wants going on.

So many of the videos were creepy and I started reading this at midnight, alone in my room and it was pretty freaky.

I thought it ended really well and it was so cool to see everything revealed. Although, it did have a bit of a Scooby-Doo feeling to it, but nonetheless it was a good ending.

Overall, Ghost in the Machine is definitely a good book to read if you're in the mood for something creepy and a book where you watch a video and read text to go along with it.
