A fast-paced suspense full of twists! This one kept me on my toes, and I couldn’t put it down! Nick and Lainie both have their reasons for staying away from each other, but they also can’t ignore the pull between them. When Lainie’s in danger and Nick realizes he could lose her? He’s all in. I’m pretty sure I’d probably punch someone if they bulldozed their way in and just told me we were together, but listen. In a book? I eat it up. I was living for his protectiveness and the way he wasn’t going to give up on the two of them being together. And I love the way Lainie pushed back. These two are fire together, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Wolf is the first book in the Sentinel Security series, a new suspense-filled romantic series. We have seen these alpha heroes and heroines as side characters in the other series but now we finally get their long-awaited stories. We met Wolf and Lainie in the Norcross series, and Wolf’s story is one I have longed to see. His story was the perfect book to start the series off with.
CEO Lainie has crushed on Wolf, her best friend Nora’s older brother, all her life. She tries to avoid him at all costs until she starts to receive disturbing death threats and her company’s websites are being attacked. She has sworn off men but having Wolf pretend to be her boyfriend makes her want to reconsider her decision.
Former SEAL and CIA agent Nick “Wolf” now works at Sentinel Security. He has spent years ignoring his attraction for Lainie but once he discovers she is being threatened, he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
The connection and attraction between Wolf and Lainie were strong and full of spice. I loved seeing the bossy over-protective Wolf try to leave the fierce and independent Lainie out of the case. Lainie was not one to stand down and let someone else solve her problems. They made the perfect couple.
I was so excited to see the Sentinel Security team finally get their own series. I always love getting to revisit with characters and since the Norcross and the Sentinel Security teams have worked together on a lot of cases you never know who will make an appearance. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the next book which will be Hades.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When I saw that Anna Hackett had a new series, I knew that I needed to jump right in. I adore her writing style and I adore her characters.
Lainie and Nick have been in each other's lives for a long time. Lainie is Nick’s sister's best friend. He has always viewed her as off limits, she has always harbored a crush. Now, Lainie is a successful business owner and fabulous. She is smart, funny, caring, and has a giant heart. Nick is out of the military and works at a private security firm. He doesn’t do relationships and works hard to keep his heart protected. When Nola, his sister asks him to help Lainie because she is being threatened he steps right in. And wow is Nick bossy. He is so bossy, but we are all here for it. Nick is one of the most protective heroes that I have read in a long time. Lainie, independent and fierce, is having none of his keeping her out of the loop. I lived for their banter and push pull in this book. The sexaual tension that this pair had was off the charts. Lainie and Nick struggled to keep their hands off of each other, and when they finally gave into their connection it was so so steamy. The suspense element of this book is really amazing, too. I loved the different directions that Hackett went, and it left us guessing until the end. I also loved how Hackett brought in characters from her other series.
If you like a romantic suspense full of surprises, steamy connections, and amazing banter this book should go on your TBR list!

I loved this book! Nick and Lainie were years in the making and I loved how they finally got together. The suspense element was well done and I honestly was surprised by the end. I was hooked from the beginning and loved that the main conflict was external. I can't wait for the rest of this series!

Action. Drama. And love

If you're looking for a quick, easy read... This is it. Personally, I HATE the nickname "kitten" and think "my sister's best friend" was ridiculously overused, but I love the Damsel in distress fights back and gets the happy ending.

I really enjoyed this!

As this world is building, I love the quick character cameos we get along the way. A quick check in on three of the Team 52 guys and of course the Norcross people too!

I enjoyed Lainie a lot and enjoyed her bad bitch Company Owner character. She was powerful and fun to follow! I also enjoyed Wolf. I think he was a great character to start with in Sentinel Security and I’m excited to follow Hades next!

If you want a book that focuses on angsty romance and glosses over the dramatic danger-filled plot, this is the book. For me there were way too many plot holes. Had to DNF at 38%.
