Pretty good - I enjoyed it and I think I would trust Dr. Marsh. He's honest about his shortcomings and his wins. I felt like I didn't really get a message or a theme, though. It was certainly interesting!

This is a book about neuroscience. When I first started this book I loved it but then a death in the family happened and a pandemic hit. That put me off this book a little. It's honest and well written but I do think it's a subject matter you have to love to read it.

I have three degree's psychology and have taken modules in neuroscience. This book is fascinating to me as it involves an element of the brain I haven't explored as psychologists are not medically trained.

Many reviews are calling the author egotistical and pretentious but I felt like it was an honest and pragmatic take on a very difficult career choice. I enjoyed all of the gritty case details but skimmed the chapter about the chemo drug approval forum/meeting. I waited a long time to read this book from my library but this topic interests me greatly so it was worth the wait.
