DNF.
Hero intimate with others after meeting heroine.

We're on the much awaited second generation of characters and I'm excited to see what these kids are up to. By Sin I Rise: Part One is about Aria and Luca's first born daughter, Marcella Vitiello. She got her mother's beauty but resembles her father's hair and eyes. She's an eye candy and engaged to one of Luca's men. Marci is bold and doesn't want to be treated like a porcelain doll. She wants a partner who'll respect her desires.

One day she's abducted by the next heir of Tartarus Motorcycle Club, Maddox "Mad" White. He seeks revenge on Luca Vitiello for slaughtering the entire MC including his father. Using his daughter as a leverage for his downfall. He thought Marci is a spoiled princess of the Cosa Nostra and he's attracted by her resiliency and pure heart.

The plot is weak in my personal opinion and this whole revenge thing is pointless. I want more buildup, the angst between Marcella and Maddox isn't enough to convince me they have the chemistry. It just simmers. We'll see on part two if there's a development.

‘vitiellos don’t kneel.’

damn right they don’t.

luca and aria are my absolute favourite couple in the world of cora reilly. so by default, out of all the kid’s books coming up, marcella’s story was the one I was looking forward to the most.

everyone including me thought marcella would be a spoiled rich girl. but she wasn’t? maybe it was just me, but she didn’t seem like a brat. in fact she was exactly who I was hoping she’d be. she was strong, passionate and OPINIONATED (which we love). she was a cold ass bitch and we love to see it!

most of the time, i end up liking the hero more than the heroine. but no, marcella was the character i was focused on this time. don’t get me wrong, i liked maddox but something was missing. he was a bit too vanilla for me or maybe i just had high hopes for him cause of luca. hopefully, we get to see a different side to maddox in by sin i rise: part 2.

this book was more than i expected. it’s getting me excited for the rest of the series. espicially amo’s and nevio’s. AND HOLY SHIT, LUCA AND ARIA HAVE ANOTHER KID! VALERIO! reading this made me so emotional

I don't care about what anyone says about this book. I loved it so much I read it in one sitting.
This book was split into 2 parts because Cora used one book for character development of both MCs, so the events in the second book could take place. Marcella had to morph into what we call a proper "Vitellio" which wouldn't have had happened unless she went to somewhat the same (loosely put) events (trauma) Luca and Matteo went through. So yes I proudly give it 4 stars.

3.5 stars!

This was surprising during some parts and not so much interesting during others but overall I enjoyed reading this book. Since it's not a complete story yet, a lot can't be said but it's a nice beginning for the series (though I expect it to get better!)

The beginning wasn't as interesting. After the initial background set-up it kinda became monotonous and it took some time for the plot to get interesting.

This book took the term kidnapping and torturing way to seriously so a lot of the happenings were unexpected and surprising and it took time to adjust to them.

I loved how Marcella was this strong and powerful character. She never backed down from a challenge and her aura and personality was great until the very end. She held her own throughout the book and I'm interested in seeing more of that in Part 2.

Maddox was a sweet guy unlike most of Cora's characters and I liked that. It took time but once he was sure, he was very expressive about his feelings for Marcella and I loved having an expressive male character who is willing to show his love openly to everyone while being unashamed and unapologetic about it. But the fact that he wasn't supposed to be this person doesn't go well. I like him nonetheless!
I'm looking forward to seeing more of his character and development because it wasn't much in Part 1 and I can't wait for the Part 2!

There are not many side characters mentioned to get us excited about their books (like Giana and Lily's kids) and Amo was 15 so seriously right now I'm not sure what I feel but nonetheless I'm excited for his and Greta's book!! And hoping for more side character mentions in Part 2.

I was kinda expecting for this book to end the way it did and I'm glad that happened because these characters have been through so much and I'd love to see proper character and relationship growth for them. It felt rushed at many points and it wouldn't have been fair to these characters to have a rushed ending. I'm hoping that Part 2 will do justice to this all.

I like how it was mentioned quite clearly how sins of these characters (fathers) are catching up with their children and how they'd have to pay for them. It isn't in any way fair and I'd love to see all of the children fighting back and getting their HEA.
