One of the most anticipated book release for this year and I must say that this exceeds my expectation.
By Sin I Rise is Maddox and Marcella book. It is about Maddox Mad Dog White, from the Tartarus MC Club seeking revenge by Kidnapping the daughter of the man who killed his father and the whole MC gang.
This is by far, for me Cora’s darkest book. She delivered the character development most especially to The Princess of New York Famiglia, Marcella Vitiello. We know her as the eldest daughter, protected and sheltered by his Dad, Luca Vitiello. Marcella shined so much in this book that she really stole the show. Despite the fact that horrendous things happened to her which I didn’t expect, She showed bravery, arrogance and still have a heart. The Vitiellos are a united front and family is really important to them. Amo Vitiello is a spitfire in this book and I am excited to know how this ordeal about his sister and family will change him and the personality that he will become as the future capo.
In case of Maddox, I would love to know more of his character in the next part of the book, I find him lacking in some and kind of like a secondary character. Also it’s clear he was infatuated in the beginning and it makes the romance part, for me one sided.
I wish or expected to know how he lived his life full of pain and revenge, how is the MC Gang important to him? An in depth background to the motorcycle club lifestyle.
Overall, this book is a sure delight, also for the fans of Cora who has rooted for this series ever since. It’s amazing how we get to see Luca and Aria and their kids grow up and still be excited for this Family.
Can’t wait to read part 2.

By sin i rise. The sin i did was read this book. God forgive me.
“Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death

This is by far the worst book by cora and she wrote many bad books..almost all. Tell me how, how the fuck did Lucca and Aria went from boiled chicken to uncooked chicken, they were bad in their book, what the fuck are they in this book i cant even explain. Seriously, the only Sin Lucca did was marry a doormat who has a personality of unseasoned sauce ( gordon ramsey would hate her). But anyway, this book is not about them so forget them the way Cora forgot them to give personality. But i must agree that Cora is good at recycling, she thought about the woods that would be cut to make paperback for this book which is why she re wrote Twisted Pride with a different name, so u can either read Twisted Pride or this shit. I recommend Twisted Pride. Anyway, so Fina here is spoiled and took

I don't know why this book needed to "be continued." But I get it. Also not a huge fan of slow burn. So it was okay. But here we go.

absolutely no reason for this to be a duet. marcella isn’t as boring as her mom so there’s that. romance is very much dead in this book, like I don’t even know what else to say. one last thing tho, on my hands and knees praying that gets out all her bad writing before she touches my babies nevioaurora
This book didn’t feel like a mafia or an MC book, it just felt off?
I liked Marcella, she’s different from a lot of Cora’s female mc’s. Maddox however, Idk how I feel about him. There’s nothing really interesting about him and their connection felt forced.
This book doesn’t need a part 2 I don’t know why Cora is dragging it out.
Also what was the need to repeat the word “cream” all the time??

“What is it you want, Maddox?” You. Ever since I met you, only you.
Seriouslyyyyy. Ok. This was something. I haven’t read a Cora book in a minute, and while I had a handful of issues I also overall enjoyed this book. Captive romance. Star crossed lovers. Blood and violence. And that ending?! A cliffhanger SERIOUSLY right now?!?
I’m going to go whine to myself about it I suppose.
DECEMBER?!? Really. Ack.
Also I want to add that I personally can not not flinch when the hero says CREAM/CREAMING. My mother says that when she’s baking. I can’t handle it used sexually, so fair warning to anyone else who isn’t a fan

By Sin I Rise is the first book of a duet in the Sins of the Fathers series and it did not disappoint!
Maddox and Marcella’s story starts off with a bang and left me speechless and impatiently waiting for part 2. I had no idea I was in for a wild and memorable ride with this book, but alas, here we are.
Marcella Vitiello, for me, was the star of the show. She was born in a world where danger lurks at every corner, and yet she never wavered. Dubbed as the spoilt princess of New York, she hoped she can experience the freedom she longed for away from the golden cage that came with her family name. When the unexpected happens, and when she’s no longer in the safety net of her father, and in the enemy’s arms instead, she learns not to take things for granted the hard way.
Maddox White was for sure a complex character. After witnessing the death of his father and MC at the hands of Luca Vitiello, he vowed to take revenge on the man who destroyed his childhood and was the star of his nightmares for years. Maddox really surprised me, and his character was really intriguing. You can understand where he’s coming from and how his past shaped his views on things. Yet, with every chapter, he kept on surprising me even more. He was fierce and protective and knew how to set his priorities straight. A bad boy to the bone, but with a sweet& loving streak.
Marcella was strong and never gave into fear, she kept her head held high and her heels close. She stood her ground and never faltered after everything she experienced at the hands of the MC. Her father’s daughter through and through. She and Maddox made a spectacular pair, and you can just tell that they have that once in a lifetime connection.
I especially adored the family moments and how they are all protective towards each other and were each other’s support through everything. The Vitiellos are as strong as ever and nothing will change that. Amo and Marcella’s moments were everything>>
Maddox and Marcella still have a long road ahead and challenges to overcome. Their relationship is not easy, and their love for each other will be tested once again because their story is far from over.
Cora Reilly studied, understood, and passed the assignment. She didn’t miss a single thing, and she really knew how to kickstart this most anticipated series. I can't wait for this next book!!

I had high hopes for this one and Cora rlly pulled thru!! Seeing Marcella grow from a pampered and spoiled girl into a badass was so cool. And Maddox falling in love with Marci while struggling with hating her father was written so well! Although I could’ve done without the whole Snow White and dog thing. Also Luca and Matteo appearances
