This was really interesting - it's amazing to learn about how such a huge web-site started from such a small event. I liked how the author composed the book - very fast paced and the information flowed without feeling to news-like.

I wanted to read this because I saw the film and I always think that books contain more information and such, but this was not the case.

Oh, Ben Mezrich. Sometimes I wonder if you are Aaron Sorkin in disguise. I don't think this book was meant to be as hilarious as I found it.

I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars on this one. It was interesting to see how facebook was founded and created and learn the back stories behind the people involved. That being said, it's just not that great of a book in general. It mostly just made me think that all the guys involved are tools and really socially inept, which is ironic that they started and continue to run the largest online social network.

Sehr interessante Hintergrundgeschichte, geschrieben wie ein Roman. Die Übersetzung läßt sich gut lesen, was mich überrascht hat.

I like the potential of a fantastic story here...but the potential is all we have with Mezrich's account of the beginnings of thefacebook. It's a quick, easy read, and I didn't completely hate it...I was just hoping for a bit more. The title is very deceptive as well: There is nothing accidental about the success of Mark's site, no character is a billionaire in any portion of the novel other than the epilogue, and this really isn't a tale of sex, so don't let that fool you. This is a story of awkward Harvard computer geeks, who get a couple of Asian girlfriends at one point in the novel. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm hoping for something a little better than this book.

girls after reading a dudebro book and deciding it was actually about gay sex and evil boy autism.

okay. my first read of hopefully many of 2023. sometimes i felt like this book dragged a bit especially in the middle. and the writing felt like the script for what would be a very poorly narrated documentary. but then it really grabbed me towards the end and i couldn't put it down. overall, i still enjoyed it and i tabbed this book up like crazy regardless. it hurts. :( also the movie created from this? literally peak cinema changed my life btw. and i do think this book adds details to the movie that i really liked. it just makes me want to rewatch the social network 5 more times

the LGBT (and chicken) community has forgiven eduardo saverin.
emotional informative inspiring reflective tense medium-paced

A very well written book about the fascinating story behind the one website we probably all visit the most each day. It reads like a thriller. I couldn't put it down & finished it in 3 days. If "The Social Network" is half as good in movie form, I'll be there opening weekend.
