A modern re-telling of the Beauty and the Beast story. A quick read.

great retell of beauty and the beast from the boy/beast's perspective In this case the beast was a snotty NYC prep school kid.

A beautiful modern twist on a favorite fairy tale

I read this years and years and years ago but only just remembered it because I recommended it to a person who I hope likes it at least a little bit and doesn't hate me if they don't. I wasn't quite as critical back then, but I recall it being a quick, sweet read, even if the characters' circumstances did seem rather unlikely.

Even as a Beauty and the Beast lover, I was really hoping for more than just the same story in a different setting. But that’s what it is. And if that’s what you want out of the book, go read it. Just don’t expect strong characters or dialoge to keep this book going. Please read the full review at: http://tipsyreader.com/books/reviews/book-review-beastly/

Fast fun read

Adding an extra star because 16-year-old me probably would've liked it.

This book took me on a roller coaster of feelings. It's a modern day telling of Beauty and the Beast through Beast's POV. First I hated the character, he was annoying and pompous and grated heavily on my nerves. Although this is to be expected from a boy soon to become Beast right? Once he was Beast he quickly became a sad and pathetic guy who I pitied but still was annoyed by. And finally Lindy enters the picture and things pick up. Count on the woman to add flavor, interest, and something to perk up and pay attention to. The characters were interesting and it was well written. It was cheesy at times but I thoroughly enjoyed who she twisted the old story into something fresh and new. I will gladly get her other re-tellings now that I see how beautifully done they are.

This was an interesting book. I had a good time reading it. Although the book itself was great, I thought the ending was rushed. I wish Ms. Flinn had prepared that more. I might have even given it a five-star.
