This book took me on a roller coaster of feelings. It's a modern day telling of Beauty and the Beast through Beast's POV. First I hated the character, he was annoying and pompous and grated heavily on my nerves. Although this is to be expected from a boy soon to become Beast right? Once he was Beast he quickly became a sad and pathetic guy who I pitied but still was annoyed by. And finally Lindy enters the picture and things pick up. Count on the woman to add flavor, interest, and something to perk up and pay attention to. The characters were interesting and it was well written. It was cheesy at times but I thoroughly enjoyed who she twisted the old story into something fresh and new. I will gladly get her other re-tellings now that I see how beautifully done they are.

This was an interesting book. I had a good time reading it. Although the book itself was great, I thought the ending was rushed. I wish Ms. Flinn had prepared that more. I might have even given it a five-star.

Truly loved this book! It was so sweet and very well written. The characters were realistic and likable.

Absolute garbage

Beauty and the Beast from the modern, rich, spoiled NYC teen-turned-into beast point of view. Liked his demise and growth as a character. Not everything is believable, but this is a fantasy.

A few words. The book was truly much better than the movie. Although i liked the movie, the book had much morte details and way too developer the romance between the heroes!

Bleh not what I expected. Seemed cheesy at times and too cliche.

I'm torn on this rating, so 3 1/2 stars would fit better. There were some unnecessarily crude parts at the beginning of this story, but the book was unique enough to keep me reading and in the end I liked the overall story and message.
I like how the author made it into a modern-day version of Beauty and the Beast. The Beast is a rich, good looking teenage boy who's castle is a Brooklyn Brownstone. Beauty's father is a drug dealer and thief who gives her away in exchange for his own freedom.
I would recommend it for older teens because of the unfortunate 'teen' stuff that was in the beginning.

This book I read on recommendation of a friend. It took quite a bit of persuasion since I strongly disliked the movie, but I am extremely pleased with my choice to read the book. This book was great!!! While it kept on the storyline of Beauty and the Beast, it had a modern feel to it that kept it relevant to today's reader. I greatly enjoyed this and would recommend to anyone who enjoys fairytales!

i just had to read this book over and over.... amazing!
