Absolutely no original ideas in this highschool B&B AU. Also, the writing was cringeworthily juvenile throughout most of it.

I can honestly say that Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite romantic tales. Ever since I watch the Disney movie only months ago and my school doing the musical of Beauty and the Beast, I thought it was fate that Beastly was a book (and becoming a major motion picture at the time).
I fell head over heals for this book! Snotty, cocky bastard Kyle Kingsbury brought down by a spell a la witch. With only a two year time limit, Kyle has to love and be loved in return or he will be beastly forever. Classic Beauty and the Beast.
I'm going to put this out there, when Will came into the story I just couldn't get a picture of Robin Williams out of my head! I've been watching The Dead Poet Society WAY too much! But, I felt like he would have played a great Will in the movie version, not saying Neil Patrick Harris was a bad choice (I love Neil Patrick Harris, by the way). And I love Lindy and Kyle together, so cute!
I will definitely look into more of Alex Flinn's novels, because she has definitely gotten me hooked!

Retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Story of Kyle/Adrian and Lindy.
Takes place in New York.
I don't remember any language issues. Lindy's dad is a drug addict. Some violence: Lindy's dad hits her and basically gives her to the beast.

I'm a sucker for retellings of "Beauty & the Beast". Wasn't my favorite, but still a good modernization.
I'm leaving this one as a Did Not Finish... It wasn't what I want to read right now, maybe I'll come back to it? I didn't like the online chat thing that the author did.
I actually liked this much more than I thought I would. I'd give it more like 3.5 stars. I thought the movie looked stupid, so I didn't plan on reading the book. From what I can tell, they changed it quite a bit for the movie, so I'm still on the fence on whether or not I want to see it. But my sis had it hanging around the house and I picked it up and read it very quickly, got really wrapped up in it.
Some parts I thought were kind of strange/creepy, and I was sort of bothered by the fact that they were so young (I would have made them say, 16 or 17 at the beginning of the book, not the end of the 2 year period the book covers). But overall I enjoyed it. Then again, I do love fairy tale retellings, this is probably the 10th or so that I've read, and I've read several Beauty and the Beast retellings as well. Interesting to put a modern spin on it.

A modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast, this a great book and great love story. It's very popular with the girls, but there's no reason guys can't like it too.
Personally, I felt the quality of the writing and dialogue was a bit meh, which is why I didn't give it more stars. However, despite that, I found it engrossing, and read it quickly.
