2.5 Mid-life crisis meets Daddy issues stars.

Now I'm not one to rip apart a book, but with the stress the author put me through, and the repetitive guilt filled text we could have least got an HEA.

Don't even get me started on Sterling. It was as if the author was trying to get rid of some guilt, but to me, it was kicking a man while he was down.

Like even if something like that could happen , Chloe should have kept that shit to herself.

Holy fuck if I was Theo.

kill me

Like fuck.

I mean If the younger woman and older man is your thing, I'd recommend reading just for smut.

Was not the biggest fan of the age gap difference and found the book to not be that well written. Continued it because as always, if I start a book I have to finish it but wouldn’t be something I’d recommend

The story of Theo Black and Chloe Knight is one of infatuation turned desire, set against a backdrop of tragedy, guilt, and eventual redemption.

Theo, a rugged, tattooed biker and grieving widower, finds solace in the most unlikely place: Chloe Knight, the nineteen-year-old neighbor and best friend of his daughter. Their connection, sparked in a moment of vulnerability, spirals into a passionate encounter that sets the stage for a tumultuous relationship. Williams navigates the complexities of their bond, exploring the ramifications of their union not just for themselves but for the family and friendships entwined with their lives.

Chloe's journey from a naive teenager to a woman confronting the consequences of her choices is portrayed with nuance and depth. Her relationship with Theo, filled with longing and remorse, is a testament to the story's exploration of love's multifaceted nature.

emotional sad medium-paced

The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because it broke my heart. I didn’t want that ending

I really liked the book it was well written. Had some good angst.

I was not a fan of the "HEA" and would of been willing to bet I would of knocked a star off of my review had their not been a sequel.

(When I went to amazon the title of the book changed to something more generic like "Mr. Black"...much prefered this title.

This book has no HEA. That is my opinion. I know the author said this a more realistic romance but I was not happy at the end.

he roughly took her and was not gentle (at all) with her when it was her first time and then again when it was her second time. But the book mentions like two different times that he needs to be gentle with her because she’s a virgin. Why?

And this book was waaay too fixated on the daughter/best friend finding out and disowning both of them. when mr black agrees to “date” his ex-girlfriend again so she doesn’t tell his daughter about them, I was done. I don’t know how that poor heroine stayed with him after that. I would have left that man then and there.

It was a lot more drama than romance. If you’re into that and a more “realist” take on romance, this book is for you.

…. but not for me

When I started this book I knew that I wasn't getting your typical romance with an HEA and I was okay with that. I loved the story regardless. The novel had a really melancholy feel to it like you were taking a glimpse into a relationship that was once. I have to admit, some of the revelations at the end were a little far fetched to me and I didn't feel like it was needed. I felt the epilogue, although a little sad, was realistic and the two characters were at a good point in their lives and had come to terms with each other. Don't get me wrong, I am beyond thrilled there's a second part and that these two are finally going to get the HEA they deserve, but I would have been satisfied with the way the novel had turned out.

This book has a huge freaking disclaimer I chose to ignore... I enjoyed the book, despite the theme and how taboo it can be I really liked it and fanned myself during the hot scenes (because they truly were hot!) But the way it all developed at the end? I understand the why, the necessity of it, I just didn't like it. All in all a really good book

Oh my, this book took me by surprise. I have to say I really liked it, this a new author for me and I loved her writing.

Chloe a sweet girl I liked her. Her falling in love with an older mad was so believable and real to me my only problem was I believe she took advantage of a situation way to fast at the wrong time in the story. I was like whoa girl nooooo. But I can't blame her only.

Theo... my... wow! That man... he just uh leaves me speechless. He's just that good. He knows how to make a girl sigh

I loved his character as well but like her he also did some dumb things too. When things got out of hand and blew up in their faces with some surprising twist I might add. I was gasping for air reading oh lets just say it was both crazy and sad.

All in all this was a fantastic ride I went on with this book that left me sad and happy at the same time

Heres my lovely couple
