"Better, faster, stronger, payback"

Ok so here's the thing, it's not a good book, it's actually really mediocre compared to the other book of this duology but it has the drama I need and I crave sometimes, just for that I'll give it 4 stars. I must admit I literally skipped all of Bette's pov because she is boring and idk, I just wanted to skip it.

June in the other hand...

Oh June I love you dear, I would understand why people don't like her but she is probably my favorite character with Alec, they are both so nice. Idk, the book was mediocre but June is worthy, read it if you want too.

Definitely not as good as the first one but I still enjoyed it and I was pretty bummed to find out there isn’t a third book. It felt like a lot of the characters changed for the worse…literally almost no one was likable by the end. and I also thought the ending wrapped up a little too quickly for my liking. I would have loved to continue and see how they all do in their respective companies...but alas...

So yeah I had my issues with it but I still loved the concept of ~drama at the ballet school~ and I really appreciate how much work the authors put into both books to make it realistic to the ballet world. After I finished I went and watched ballet videos for a few hours, which I guess isn’t actually that different from a normal day, but still.

Also I should have written this in my last review as well but MAJOR tw for eating disorders/purging for both these books. Lots of other stuff too inc
Spoilerattempted suicide
but the ED stuff felt particularly descriptive to me as a person with a history of that so def something to be aware of.

Anyway please recommend me your favorite ballet books. Adults deserve ballet fiction too smh

I read the first book with a pounding heart, and I can say the exact same thing for this one. It was torture to see Gigi turn into such an awful version of herself, but the ending of this book has to be one of the most satisfying endings I've ever read. SpoilerBesides June not being Jayhe! I love them together and I have to say that June was probably my favorite character. I am happy for her, though, even though she and Jayhe are far apart. I think that everybody gets what they deserve. This book was very well-written and there was never a slow part. It was compelling to see all these characters struggle to find their place in their shattered world. Old friendships end, but so do old feuds and that really made me super happy. I would definitely recommend this book, even if you don't have any interest in ballet. :)

This started out really promising, but then just ended up being the same thing as the first book for another 300 pages. It just got a little old after a while. Still entertaining, just nothing really exciting or memorable.
