After reading the synopsis and seeing the cover, I had certain expectations for this book. However, the main female character turned out to be annoying, and I found the writing quality to be lacking.

Umm YES!

Ok, seriously...this book was sooooo amazing and empowering for women. Women standing in their truth, calling out male toxicity, and ALL OF THE THINGS!

Carlos was just my favorite. I loved that Akila challenged him and he didn’t back down. Their chemistry was everything!

This was such a great read. Danielle’s writing, choice of words, plot, etc were amazing. This was my first read by this author and I will most definitely be reading more!

an incredibly entertaining and engaging read. If this is how enemies to lovers was consistently written I might actually give it crecedence. This book was funny, sexy and stimulating. Throughout the read I kept saying city boy screams rape apologist rhetoric and then seeing that actualised was as heartbreaking as it was affirming. the main message of this book, or at leadt what i took away from it is that there is a clear right and wrong and most times things aren’t as complex as we would like them to be. Stick to your principles and whats meant for you will come for you. 100% tuned in to this author now. highly recommend!!!

Yes, yes, YYYYYEEEEESSSSSSS

What a hoot! Danielle Allen is quite the storyteller. Akila is quite the character. And I am smitten with a certain former associate of human trash...

Allen keeps the Lost Boys on their toes with Akila's strength and passion. She had me ready to throwdown and equally ruffled my feathers with the toxic spewing of the Boys. I was both offended and nodding at the very real depictions.

But Akila is a warrior and she is definitely a role model. Sweatpants Season is definitely cheeky...or should I say shedding light on a shady...

Yeah, Sweatpants Season is a phenomenon best represented in these pages.

I was introduced to this author on tiktok, and I loooved her energy. I’m not a fan of smutty books, but I decided to give this a chance bc the author gives off a good vibe. This book was not at aaaall what I expected. I thought it was gonna be really smutty, but it had a lot more going for it. I will definitely read more from Danielle Allen.
