I bought this book via Amazon and had I known it's more or less a primer of ideas for women in history to study I may have passed on it. Each woman has a single page accompanied by gorgeous artwork on the opposite page. There is a variety of women included and I would recommend this for someone who wants a starter course as to who to study in women's history. The artwork is incredibly lovely which was a huge plus.

An empowering book with beautiful illustrations. However, these drawings showed the idealized, beautified version of these strong women, which I found unnecessary. Why not draw them in the real way they look? I also found this book a little bit too United States-centered, and with certain political bias.

Beautiful illustrations! I wish the author had either tightened her focus on which women to include or broadened it. It ends up in kind of a weird middle place that's supposed to include women who pushed boundaries in any area, but the second half of the book ends up being mostly women in the entertainment industry. The first half had a broader spectrum. I wish the snippets on each woman had been slightly longer as well. Overall a beautiful coffee table book and one that definitely inspired me to do further reading and research into the lives of many women included.

Love it.

So many women on this list, I had never heard of but I will definitely be reading about now.
From the short clip of their lives to the illustration, it's a must read.
