I really enjoyed learning about daring women, many of whom I had never before heard of. However, this book doesn't give you much, just skimming the surface. The drawings of the women quickly go from cute to grating, especially once I started seeing women I knew through photos and who were practically unrecognizable in these drawings. A nice book for skimming the surface, but overwhelmingly white and western. Not much more than a coffee table book.
Bad Girls Throughout History by Ann Shen is a collection of 100 single-page biographies of famous women. It could be a wonderful bathroom reader, a book where you can start and stop on any page.

A really fun read. I did not take it as a definitive list of THE most important females to ever exist, more that Ann Shen came up with 100 of her favorites and shared a little about them. The biographies are very brief, just enough to spur my curiosity about a lot of the subjects. The portraits are beautiful but after a while they did sort of blend together...I think because Shen has basically one style of drawing eyes. Fun to read a few profiles, put it down, and come back to later.

The blurb are short but informative and I love the art.

This book is cute for what it is. It seems like it's designed to be a gift book for someone you know who is GIRL POWER rather than something you would buy for yourself. The entries are too short to be really informative (and some seem to include some misinformation and leave out a lot of negatives).
I'm sure this is good but I just wasn't vibing with it and I'm on the verge of a book funk, I think lol Of the biographies I did read, I felt like the women deserved more research.
