Seriously could not put this book down! I fell in love with Gabe, understood Lucy’s relationship & feelings toward Darren, & bawled like a baby at the ending. Great book!!

I’m finding it difficult to figure out exactly what I feel about this book. The story is about love, loss, starting over and fate.

Written as thought it is your friend telling you a story, I found it was a bit difficult to get into but once my brain adjusted I couldn’t stop reading. I read from 30% to the end in a few hours.

While I loved the passion and romance I also found that I really disliked some of the characters (ok one in particular). Even now, after finishing, I couldn’t tell you if I liked them or not. I’m conflicted. My brain knows what happened, happened for a reason but my heart hurts and is failing to accept the ending.

I think ultimately I give this book 4.5 stars, and feel it will stay with me for a long time.

Awful. I really disliked this book. I gave it a star only because it's written in the 2nd person which is my favorite POV. I hated the main character. I hated the ending. I hate not knowing what happens when her husband finds out. I thought the entire book was pretty pathetic
Spoiler how she only dated him a year at the age of 22 or 23 and can not get over the guy. She got married and had kids with someone and STILL just can't get over him. She was selfish and extremely immature. and over 13 years and an occasional single email or visit ONCE per year warranted him making her his person to pull the plug or not (can't think of what that's called. lol. This book thoroughly annoyed me.

this was such a weird book to read. i hated pretty much every character and didn't want any of them to end up with anyone. that's how much they sucked. however, it was a very interesting and captivating story.

i really have no idea how else to rate this so take the stars with a grain of salt

I never write reviews but I almost can’t help myself here. Lucy is the most insufferable protagonist I’ve ever read. There was not a single point in this book where I rooted for her. I almost gave up on this book more than once. If you are with someone for 8+ years and you’re still thinking about your ex/ you’re not over your ex… I do not care you’re a bad person. There were so many times in this book where all I can think is ‘why do you still answer your ex’s calls/messages. You’re married. You have kids. And you can’t get over a year long relationship that happened years ago???’ If on my wedding day I thought only of my ex I wouldn’t get married. Don’t get me wrong there were things that her husband did that annoyed me/pissed me off too but a lot of their problems could have been solved if she just talked about her feelings… but no she wanted to just blame him for not being how Gabe would be… she wanted to know what it would be like if her family was with Gabe instead? Babe he would have left. He wouldn’t be around because he put himself before you over and over again and he probably would have done the same to your kids.
