This was awful. There was too much going on and are you kidding me with that FMC?? Is she the only woman in her town? Is every man in love with her? Every one?
Are all special ops unit as terrible as the one on this case?
And how insensitive are the MCs? The sister and a friend are missing and they just cannot control themselves together? Eww. The pacing was off, the smut was times poorly, all the characters took for fucking ever to make a point or to say the simplest thing. This is the start of a series and I have no intention of seeing the end of it. I want my 12 hours back. Good god.

Really disappointing since I love the author's Tattered Curtain series.  The author has clearly matured in their writing since this series because this was a poor showing.  3rd person POV was super chaotic and wordy, while the characters themselves felt more like caricatures than actual people.  My TBR list just got 6 books shorter by removing this series. I hope to read more by the author in the future, but not if it's anything like this.

I really almost DNF. Don’t feel like reading the rest of the series. Just not interested in the plot or the romance.

I DNF'd at 38%.  The writing is really good, but I think I was expecting more romance focus, and it's definitely plot focused.  It's more of a suspense with a little bit of a romantic suspense on the side. The narration for the audiobook was good, the story just wasn't holding my interest personally.

So much happened in this book that I don’t know where to start. The author created such a great overarching plot, I was so surprised with where this book went. I thought it was just going to be a regular romance with a little bit of a mystery but it ended up being a lot more mystery and action. Of course it was romance but it seemed a bit secondary to the plot. No complaints though because it really was an interesting plot. I’m interested to see where this continues with the next book. The books in the series are standalone with the overarching plot, but I think reading them an order is extremely beneficial.

I think this book was written more like a mystery novel instead of the usual first person point of view in romance novels. There were chapters with different point of views but it felt more like descriptions rather than being in that person’s head. If you know what I mean. No complaints, I think it worked really well.

This book is a good balance between mystery and romance. The romance was definitely cute, but I feel like I was more interested in the mystery, and potentially other romances then the romance featured in this book. It’s a second chance romance, so there was drama and misunderstandings and then it all worked out in the end. It was alright. I would definitely check out this novel if you like mystery though. Looking forward to the second book in the series to learn more about mystery and also see the focus on the next couple.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like the series since all the books are told in third person POV. However, the suspense and romance kept me on the edge of my seat. I am not particularly a fan of second chance romance books, however, I believe that this book was very good. I loved Jason and Jules! I wish Andy had his villain arc, instead of it being his father. If he was the villain, he wouldn’t have died for no reason at all. I am more excited to read about Ellie and Devil Ray than any other characters in the series, although I am loving Draco and Nora. Devil was DESTROYED when Ellie was missing; he was stressed to the max. I can’t wait to read where the story takes us. Needless to say, Greer Rivers has become my absolute favorite!
