This was a great story of facing trauma and allowing ones self to forgive and love.

Not the best Nicolas Sparks for me, aka didn’t get tears out of me like almost every other Nicolas Sparks but def identified the time they would/could have shed a tear. Overall solid. (Audiobook)

This is easily by far my favorite and in my opinion the best and most well written Sparks novel. A bookshelf must have!

Wow this one connected with me. Pretty much standard Nicholas Sparks - a single mum with a 'special' four year old moves 'home' when her life starts to fall apart. After a car accident she is rescued by local volunteer fire fighter and all-round nice guy, with whom she gradually starts a relationship. Firefighter/builder is perfect in so many ways, great with her son, but will not open up, which drives them apart for a time. When tragedy strikes with his best friend, he is convinced to reveal his secret and they are reunited. Beautiful, tear-jerker.

This book was very sweet and I read it fairly quickly.

Okay, should read again?!?

What an amazing story about the heart. I knew because it was a Sparks book that there was more to the title then just the occupation of one of the main characters. Its the way his books are. I loved this story. The characters, the story; it was probably one of my favorites of his. Life is complicated. But Sparks shows us with his characters that a little love and compassion really do make a difference.
