This book could have been 2/3 the size, however if you want an easy to read, uncomplex novel that still has a little bit of depth Nicholas Sparks will not disappoint.

I have always been a very big Nicholas Sparks fan. This was one of the best books by him that I have read. I would reccommend this novel to anyone who is a fan of a small town romance as well as the struggles that the characters endure. This was my second time reading this novel and it definitely will not be the last. Every time this novel takes the reader by surprise and engages them in the love shared between the characters.

The Rescue was a very exciting novel. It started as a simple love story that was recovering from hurt. The reader gets to experience the love from the very start as it goes through heartbreak and healing. Not to mention in the novel other factors contribute to the novels sadness as well as excitment. This novel shows the stregnth that Denise has through the teaching of her 4 year old son. Also it shows the danger that Taylor goes through as a firefigher and the hurt that he has gone through now because of the death of his friend and in the past through the death of his father. This novel is alot more than just the rescuing of people because Taylor is a firefigher. It is about Taylor rescueing himself with the love of Denise.

While I find Sparks's books to be predictable he's good for an easy, no-brainer read.

Downgraded from 4 stars to 1 star. I don't support racists.

Having enjoyed Sparks autobiography directly before starting this book, I must admit I was disappointed in this novel. After the 1st chapter, I correctly predicted the rest of the story, and while it was sweet and wholesome, I didn't find it particularly romantic. The descriptions of Kyle and his problems with speech were the most interesting, and this is probably due to the fact I know SParks drew from his personal experience of his son, who has this disorder. It was ok, and that is all that can be said.

Good book that will hit you in the feels. Good character backstory and development. Simple love story that has a few twists that keep it interesting.
