mas triste q la chucha

i fr haven’t picked up this book in MONTHS and the first 3 chapters (only 4 chapters total) were like wholesome, cat perspective, little adventures with his owner and what not! I DIDNT EXPECT IT TO DOUBLE WHAMMY TURN INTO THAT and oh wow. if you are a cat person… or love pets in any matter… this fr HURTS me. seeing things in the perspective of a cat, i got so attached and empathized a lot with this as i too have immense love for my cats.. and dawg… im so… wow

would rate a 4.5! idk why goodreads doesn’t have half ratings

3,5 stars? i expected this to be a story about physical journeys (road trips) and i guess it was, in a way, because nana and satoru kept moving from place to place, but BOY was i taken on an unexpected feel trip. there was a focus on emotional journeys, which i didn't initially expect, but definitely loved. the stories were incredibly touching and... real. i lost count of how many times i teared up lol. i wasn't the biggest fan of sugi and chikako's story, though, i didn't like chikako being reduced to The Love Interest. the translation was also, in my opinion, a bit unsatisfactory at times. overall, a very gentle and poignant little story about the joys and sorrows of life - love, loss, loyalty, friendship, growth, hope, and so on.

the travelling cat chronicles was not the wholesome cat story i had naively anticipated in the very beginning. on the contrary, it was a poignant tale of the bond that was created, existed and lasted between a wise, sarcastic and loyal cat and his gentle owner

"Satoru didn't seem to get it, how important he was to me." – Nana

I came across this story in a bookstore and promised to look for it later, but forgot the name. When I downloaded a book app it came up suggested and I thought "it must be interesting to read a book from the perspective of a cat", at the beginning I didn't think it would be so heartfelt. The ending makes us reflect and shudder at the same time with the fragility of life. It is a gem and a delight for anyone who comes across this book.

My hormones are still out of wack and this was so sweet and so sad, I almost started crying. In terms of sadness, I'd rank it up there with Shizuko's Daughter and Kitchen.

90 percent of this book had me grinning from ear to ear, and the other 10 percent had me sobbing. I highly recommend for all cat lovers.

There were still a lot of things the two of us had never seen before

I hadn't realised how deeply Satoru and Nana had impacted me until I reached the final chapters. I originally thought that The Travelling Cat Chronicles was just a nice and quick book I can smash through in one day but boy was I wrong. The subtleness and tenderness of Nana and Satoru's journey in real life along with delving into Satoru's childhood
Spoilerup until the very end
was heartwarming and I loved every second of it.

This book just really hit me in a way I wasn't expecting and I sure won't be forgetting this feeling anytime soon.
