It's a simply written, heartwarming story of a cat/human relationship, I liked the beginning and the ending, the middle of the book was good, but not as good as I'd hoped. Overall, it's a great and quick read. 3.75

Not many book with animal as a main character in human's life, and Arikawa-san successfully brings Nana as an awesome narrator. Sometimes, I thought, could it be that Arikawa-san was a cat in her previous life? Lol. Cause she seems to know cat behaviour and all the meaning of Nana's actions. Well, that's only proof that either she's a cat lover or she did research thoroughly for the book.
The Travelling Cat Chronicles begins with a stray cat named Nana (he had no name before, of course), who likes to lie on the bonnet of a silver van. The owner, Satoru, would sometime pop up and gives him food. One day, Nana had a car accident and broke his leg. And in desperation, the only thing he remember is Satoru. So went he to the apartment and called for him. Long story short, Nana lives with Satoru. But after 5 years living together, due to undescribed situation, Satoru can't take care of him anymore. He asked his best friends to take Nana in, so the two's trips is began!
I remember having a orange tabby called Momo and he died in a crash. And since then, I still can't own any cat. Maybe I'm like Yoshimine here. We both don't really attach to animal, but if given condition to take care of some, we'd do it. But we'll never do as well as Satoru. Maybe one day, I'll have my own again. A cat I like from the start, and I hope he'll acknowledge me as his owner.
Anyway, to cry because of a cat, this book really is enchanting. Marvelous. Definitely favorite!
