it’s SGJ of course it’s getting a 5 from me

Someone else said this before me, this book is a love letter to slasher movies. Here's where i confess that I've never seen a slasher but that I'd love reading them. I finished the book, heart pounding, and then started crying as I read the amazing acknowledgements. Make sure to read to the very last page of the book.

I was so excited for this & the first chapter/couple pages really drew me in and then it just kind of dragged on & on and the ending left me wanting more; Jade was a great character

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator is great. Her narration catches the giddy tone of 17 year old Jade discussing her obsession (slasher movies). Although I am not a fan of slasher/horror films, I actually do like to read horror. I knew most of the movies Jade refers to in this book. If you know nothing about slasher films, I'm not sure you would appreciate this book.

How clever that Jade's papers for her history class are all about slasher films. I loved how they were sprinkled throughout. This book was an easy listen. I'd say Stephen Graham Jones puts the F in fun! Can't wait to listen to the sequel, hope it's the same narrator who did a stellar job!
