I enjoyed the short stories, but I feel not all of the co-authors captured the likeness of River Song. In some stories River seemed whiny and like she was waiting for the Doctor to solve everything.

Meh. I have very mixed feelings about River. I loved her in The Library, but I feared where her story was going (and I was completely right to my dismay). Kind of more of the same feelings, really. Nowhere near as much fun as watching her in action.

Elvis)

I enjoyed these stories. The authors all seemed to capture the voice of Prof. Song.

An enjoyable read - not a literary masterpiece but it doesn't pretend to be either.

Really hated the first story though. It wasn't badly written and the main plot was fine but it had this whole subplot about River wondering whether she should start a family with the Doctor. Urgh. So effing tedious that you can't even read a story about River Song without the issue of motherhood being raised. Worst still, River's quandry about kids focuses on what the Doctor might want and whether he'd be a good Dad. Not what she wants etc.

Short easy read. Some stories better than others, but that's always the case when it's a compilation. I liked that not every story included the Doctor  and River had a chance to shine as herself. Would read again.
