I’m not sure I got over the weirdness of the start and the insane quirkiness of the heroine. I usually love Eloisa James but this just didn’t hit the mark for me. I think she’s better when she’s working with slight feistier heroines. Or maybe I just like my heroines with a bit more get up and go at the moment. Never mind.

The Wildes of Lindow Castle is a fun series, revolving around a Duke who has roughly ten children (some are adopted). Viola is one of the daughters whose mother is the Duke's third wife (she was two years old when they married). She's never considered herself really a Wilde as she is shy, unlike most of the family. Devin, Duke of Wynter, is ready to marry and sets his sights on Joan, Viola's sister, until he meets Viola who is the opposite of everything he thought he wanted.
It's a quick read with some good funny moments. The secondary romance where Viola decides that maybe the new vicar might be a suitable husband provides for an interesting side story. It's a Georgian romance in the style of Georgette Heyer and a nice contribution to a good series.

Still loving the Wildes, and their wonderful, wacky adventures. This book centers on the quietest of the Wildes, a girl so shy that she throws up from nerves on social occasions. Such a good new family comes with the love interest, and I'm excited to see if more comes from that connection.

To be honest, all I really have to say is that this book is extremely sexy and I love it.
I enjoyed Viola as a heroine very much, because I can definitely understand what it's like to feel overshadowed by the people around you. I liked that she found her confidence before she found her man, so to speak. Sometimes romance novels can get too wrapped up in the trope of having the characters not feel truly "whole" until they find love, and I like that this book stayed away from that.
