Honestly, I'm sort of glad that I read other people's reviews and spoilers ahead of time, that way I could be fully prepared for what happened in this book. The alleged relationship in this book is boring, Ravena (I don't know the spelling or care) doesn't make sense, she just appeared previously and keeps manifesting all these abilities with no explanation. Lassiter was better on his own, not all of these characters needed a relationship because it adds nothing to them in the long run.

I think overall it's pretty obvious there was no long term goal for the series because all of the big changes that have happened seem to get undone in an effort to return to a familiar plotline. The omega, people's deaths, various near deaths, none of it really matters because the whole thing will be undone to set up a new generation with the same stuff. They'll probably be exact copies of their parents too.

I have a big gripe though because I feel like they'll set this entire world up 30 years in the future and Ward is still going to use 2023-ish references and technology. I'm not sure how she'll manage that one because the timeline of the entire book series (4 or 5 years at most) compared to the timeline of publication (almost 20 years) is very different yet the references are always current. Honestly this didn't bother me until I saw someone else mention it. Now I can't stop thinking about why a storyline likely taking place ca. 2010 would mention Tiktok or the most recent Taylor Swift music. It's lazy.

I was less interested in the love story and more interested in how Lass did his work as the new Scribe Virgen and
unfortunately there wasn't much of that.

I don't think I have ever screamed so much at a book or author before. It is a good thing I live in the country because I was loud. This is the one drawback of listening to the audiobook. It was if Jim Frangione was right there with me.

Lassiter is an emotional story that will give you all the feels. Panic was prevalent. Lash and Davina make the Omega's antic look like child's play. The threat is real. The tension is thick. It isn't just the vampires that will be in danger. The Black Dagger Brotherhood is up against someone they trained. Lash will use more than lessers to destroy the enemy.

My heart was in tatters. I was shattered. And then my heart exploded into a million pieces. I didn't think it would would ever be put back together. Thank goodness J.R. Ward was the crazy glue that put me back together.

I usually scream for the next book when I finish a new release. Not this time. I need time to recover before I start stalking for the next book.

She is lucky that Beth and Wrath reunited in this because I was about to say some nasty things. Why would you work so long fixing things and pairing off happy couples just to tear it all to shit after like 7283738 books? Crazy. Also why did I kinda love Devina and Lash.. idk that bag thing was cute. I’m glad Lassiter got his happy ending and i LOVE LOVE Rayvhn as a character. Also if Nalla doesn’t become future queen in the next one, I will rage like nothing you have ever seen before.
