It was fine. It felt rushed but that’s to be expected in a book this short.

One thing I've always loved about Rebekah Weatherspoon's novellas is her dedication to creating diverse romances. So often what's promoted within romance is "normal" white male/white female, both super straight, the male is very alpha, the female a passive waif. This bores me. Rebekah Weatherspoon's books never fall into these categories. Regardless on whether or not the romance dynamic is something I'm personally enjoying, her characters are always interesting, their own people, and diverse in both race and sexuality.

The age gap between Kayla and Michael creeped me out a little, but this book felt moreso like a short fantasy happily ever after rather than a realistic character study. Things don't work like this in real life but I don't need it to. It was a lovely diversion with wonderful characters and an obvious happily ever after. And sometimes that's all I need out of a romance book.

All this being said, Mom, because I know you're reading this, you uhhhh... probably shouldn't read this book. I know you love romance but I do not think this one fits into what you normally read. Maybe just give it a pass ;)

Sugar daddy? Plus size black women? Perfect sounds like a great story! And honestly it started our great and then just escalated so quickly and crashed and burned! This is definitely the better book out of the 3, but it still wasn’t great. We didn’t get see the relationship build between Kayla and Michael…. It was very much based on sex, which is cool but y’all supposed to be in a relationship and y’all don’t even talk just have sex all day long? Maybe I’m jealous? Idk I just didn’t feel connected to these characters at all. Everything was flat, and again the author told us what was happening instead of showing us. Which sucked.
