Let's see, how to rate this book? Well, I loved the "Survivors" themselves; I think the author did a great job portraying each woman and their struggles, and I felt like the reader really gets to "know" these ladies. Now the book itself was a unique and twisted crime; I enjoyed the suspense and guessing who the culprit was but wow, Gardner is so detailed in how the criminals mastermind the crimes, that it makes me feel a little uneasy. We all know there are lots of crazies in the world, but to feel like you are in their head when Gardner narrates their thought processes is interesting yet unsettling at the same time.

Wouldn't read another. Slow and dull at times. Plenty of cliques and stereotypes.
The Survivors Club seem to be an ex-club to he honest (they don't even get together again after the book starts). There's the young amnesiac one, the super rich one who was drifting and unhappy before this, and the successful businesswoman who doesn't date, all shallow charactertures.
The plot some large holes in it and the whole thing goes on so long that I figured out the obvious before it happened. It's not an especially long book in number of pages but the print was surprisingly small in my hardback edition (despite my excellent vision).
The inevitable confrontation at the end was a let down.
There's a lot of the plot hanging on psychological stuff but no depth or complexity in it, so it looks more like tokenism or a plot device. More research needed.
Everyone lives happily ever after (except the murder victims). "Now I have nothing" whines the formerly rich one who has a lawyer husband, still has a house and car, and has more managable debts than the student she says that in front of.
It's a while since I really disliked a crime thriller (Harpen Cohen, Tell No One and one from Peter Robinson come to mind).

Great suspense! Another masterful story by Lisa Gardner. I think this one is a stand alone, but the characters were well developed and the plot kept me thinking. I have a few questions that could be flaws, but they in no way ruined the story.
An exhilarating thrill ride with the members of the Survivors Club, Jillian, Carol and Meg. Assaulted once but determined to move on. But then he is impossibly back!
The description of the action was chaotic, there was zero character development, and the premise was shopworn.

i’m never gonna be the one to say should have cops, but damn this was enticing. UNTIL the second half, where i went back to my cop-hating self because they’re dumb. first half is much more compelling but the epilogue ties everything up well so whatevs
