Defintley love this world and characters although the fact that grimace is used constantly is super annoying. And is the reason I gave it 4 stars because I'm so sick of seeing it.
I feel like a creeper crushin on Mason cause he's only 18 but hot damn!!!

ADDICTIVE - I have a feeling this whole series is going to be addictive - love the friendship between Logan and Sam - and love Sam and Masons relationship. Hate Sam's mum.
So the truth is out, Sam and Mason are a thing and practically inseparable. Considering Sam and Mason also happen to be step-brother and sister, her mother does not bode well with this news. As well with none of the vicious popular girls at Public who are after Mason 24/7. But the reason why we all love Sam? She doesn't care. She gives no shits and she's ready to take on all of the hate with 2 middle fingers. I LOVE HER. I LOVE MASON. I LOVE LOGAN. I JUST LOVE TIJAN! This was a masterpiece on its own and I'm counting my blessings that I found this series.
So this novel basically outlines that her mother is... well.. crazy. Like bat-shit crazy! Some of the things that woman has done are just horrible and I feel so bad for Sam but now she has Mason, Logan and even Nate! So there's been a lot of hate towards Sam in this book because she seems 'weaker' UM NO SHE IS NOT. EXCUSE ME. The amount of shit Sam has to go through is impeccable and the fact she is still facing the haters at Private and Public is amazing. Her mother basically turned on her and she's even starting to have problems with her loved dad, no wonder she cries and no wonder she has down moments. She's HUMAN. It happens, the main point is that by the end of the book she still grew stronger and made an amazing character. SO PLEASE, stop. She is not weak, she is not whiny, she is however beautiful, strong, and crazy kind. Sorry for the rant but that is how strongly I feel towards this beautiful series.
Anyways, Sam and Mason really get at it in this one LOL. I don't really know how else to say it without getting flagged but it's true, and Tijan is not shy with her writing those scenes, at all. I am definitely not complaining but it's just a warning and disclaimer. This book was amazing, and we finally got to see more of Nate and how close he really is with Mason. I love this series to death and I can't believe I'm still currently reading the 5th book! Also, there are 7 confirmed books in the series, with 2 novellas after it so, just to let you guys know!

Book started off right where book 1 ended, and it is basically an all out war in this book. Sam's mom is one crazy lady. The first book gave a glimpse into Sam mom but this book shows how crazy this women really is, like psycho crazy. I did not understand how Mason and Logan dad basically let Sam mom say and do things to his sons and not flinch about it, especially when she showed her true colors. Sam was not the tough chic she was in book 1, but I understand why. You have to realize she been so numb for so long and had to deal with a lot of bullshit from not only her mom but her best friends and boyfriend, so it make sense that she was emotional (especially since it was a time frame of months). So Sam emotions did not bother me, it was how she can forgive people like Adam, Jeff, and Becky so easily. I mean hello Adam threw a hissy fit because Sam did not like him the same way and was a complete jerk to her and to top it all off he lied to Becky to have her hate Sam. Becky pissed me off because I thought she was a true friend to Sam but jealousy and envy made her diss her, and she believed Adam lie even though she knew it was a lie but believed it to have an excuse to hate Sam! Sam should of said screw you and put up her middle finger! Becky and Adam showed their true colors and yet it took a sad expression to forgive them PUH-LEESE. And Jeff! Really why is he still in the picture, and why does he want her to show him how to be a good boyfriend.*GAG* I hope Heather will be a better friend and really stick with Sam through everything. Mason was the rock in this book he loves Sam with all his heart and was there for her in her time of need. Logan was a great brother to Sam and I want him to find a girl that will love him for him. Nate I know there is more to him and hope to find out his story. I feel that there will be some more drama (happy dance) and I believe Sam mom will yet another splash in her atempt for control. All in all I loved the book I just couldnt give the full 5 star because of Sam lack of standing up for herself when it came to her so call friends. Cannot wait until book 3!!
