I don't know how to explain my feelings about this book other than to say that I liked it, I just didn't love it. I liked the whole premise of a magical secret society and how magic and science were so linked. The different types of magic and how they were all used was cool too. I think there were just too many main characters to funny connect to any of them. They were all interesting and unique but weren't all as well developed as they could have been. Libby was definitely my favourite but I also really liked Nico, Tristan and Parisa.

I'm definitely intrigued enough to carry on with the series especially after that ending! Hopefully I get more attached to the characters too.

I could not get passed all the characters except Libby thinking they were the best person ever. It got stagnant also when they were at the library doing research or whatever. The book seemed directionless.

This book was very smart and cleverly written. The characters were the worst but so intriguing I couldn’t stop reading I felt entranced by them. However this book has nothing to do with the society. The society is basically nothing? Like what is it? I swear we never find out which is so frustrating also if these people are so smart why on earth would they take the word of a random person about joining this ‘society’ for wealth and knowledge I don’t understand. I just don’t understand most of this book tbh or even what they did the year they were in London. Like where did this idea of creating black holes come from? Why was Libby randomly making them and turning back time and stuff? What inspired her to do that it seemed so random and out of the blue? I was just very confused and I only kept reading as the characters were interesting and I wanted to know the ending.

I wouldn’t read the sequel as I don’t really care that much but so confused by this books popularity. Maybe I’m too dumb for this book but like it has no plot?

My first DNF | 53%

Wasn’t my genre and the writing was a little bit too complicated. I didn’t get the story because I didn’t understand everything. This book made me feel dumb

Possibly a soft DNF, possibly permanent. I’m enjoying this, but not loving it enough to read the whole trilogy, especially with the poor reviews of the other two books. I have so many other books begging my attention.
