Loved it! I really like this series and its twist on the traditional werewolf and vampire story. Alexia is one of my favorite fictional heroines - I want her parasol, or at least a parasol with which I may whack intruders about the head. I read this in a little over a day - would have been faster, but I had to work and my husband demanded that I actually spend time with my nose out of the book for a little while. If you are tired of the Sookie series, or are a fan of historical novels with humor, or like parasols or sexy werewolves, read this.

I read Blameless with skipping Changeless. Now, before you frown and ask me why I skip book #2 despite the cruel cliffhanger, I had read it. But the manga version [bc:Soulless: The Manga, Vol. 2|13272633|Soulless The Manga, Vol. 2|Gail Carriger|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1354748552s/13272633.jpg|18476483]. The manga make me can understand the event that happen in Changeless, such as when Alexia first met the other preternatural beside her, the appearance of Madame Genevieve Lefoux, the changeless condition of all the supernatural in London and.. how Conall react badly over Alexia's pregnancy.

Blameless continue to what happen after Changeless. Alexia, pregnant, with her husband brooding, sulking also drunk in the Woolsey Castle. Alexia now back to the Loontwill Manor, but her meanie sisters demand her to leave the house because all the gossip about Alexia's adultery, (since it's strong believed that supernatural will never procreate. So Alexia's pregnancy considered as the result of her infidelity). Alexia, bless her very strong heart and demeanor, go to Lord Akeldama, her only ally. She also believe he know what happen with her current condition. But the vampire is not in his home, abandoned like he pursue something. So, Alexia with Genevieve Lefoux and her loyal butler Floote go to Italy, with hope the Templar society now the answer.

Yet, someone want Alexia and her unborn child to die, since she attacked by robotic ladybugs. The attack doesn't stop until she reach France, turn that the vampire target her. Also when she finally arrived at Italy. Alas, even the Templar protect her, they see Alexia just as their experiment to defend them from supernaturals. And what about Conall? As much I hate what he do at Changeless, he finally come into his senses. Thanks to his beta, Professor Lyall, who just become my favorite character!! Now, now, can Alexia find the answer behind her unusual pregnancy?

I loooove Blameless! I know why some reviewers rate this not too high like the first book, Soulless. I almost shocked when read Conall accussed Alexia of adultery. Why not think that when Alexia touch him, he become human and of course, they can procreate. But Conall to hot headed to accept the fact. Thanks again to professor Lyall. The way Conall ask forgiveness to Alexia make me go "awwww" and Alexia's reaction to it, even she's so mad make me smile like a proud mama. This couple just become my favorite couple on romancelandia :'). I do think that Alexia's forgiveness to Conall even seems easy, it's necessary. When you love someone so dearly, you can't mad to him/her for long. Beside Alexia need Conall for their baby.

Alexia is still kickin' butt with her parasol. I like how strong she portrayed, how it's hard to be gossiped about the act that she doesn't commit. But her pride is too high, and that's why I love about Alexia. Her witty and snark also add a touch of humor for Blameless. Also don't forget her sidekick, Lefoux who have a hilarious moment when she must dress properly with gown at Italy. There's some event happen that turn the plot and make this series more interesting.

I always think that Steampunk is not my kind of genre, but maybe guess it wrong. It just need a right author to make you love this genre, and Gail Carriger is one of them.

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first two. Alexia is far more enjoyable when she is with Lord Maccon. They were apart for much of the book and I guess I need their banter and bickering.
adventurous funny lighthearted

3 stars for this and Changeless due to generally liking them but not as much as Soulless. Still lots of witty banter.

Very angry at Conall and a little disappointed he was forgiven so easily.

I’ve been reading this series so fast they’re all sort of running together but so far the first one is the best one. Curious about how one thing in particular is going to play out so I’ll probably continue the series.

Following on from [b:Soulless|6381205|Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1)|Gail Carriger|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1314020848s/6381205.jpg|6569140] and [b:Changeless|6933876|Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2)|Gail Carriger|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1292566141s/6933876.jpg|7165488], it probably really out to be called "Breathless", because from the very beginning Alexia and co are on the run and don't really stop. It's a grand adventure which focuses the authors talents amazingly. I was really glad that it was such an improvement over book 2.

Love, love, LOVE these books! There is so much sarcasm, it's amazing. As the book began I found myself commiserating with Alexia over her stupid husband. Seriously, drinking formaldehyde. She is back home with her ridiculous sisters and mother and step-father and they are just so awful. Her sister has even betrayed the secret of her pregnancy an they kick her out. She comes very close to really being without a home, when Lord Akeldama is out.

I love the ridiculousness that comes in by being attacked and nearly killed by ladybugs. Also, Alexia's reaction to other people's horror that she is out in public after it has become known she is pregnant and abandoned by her husband.

The trip to Italy is quite dangerous and it becomes apparent how much danger Alexia is in now that she has lost the protection of the pack. I enjoyed the various modes of travel that they used and the bits of technology they are exposed to. Floote is also a very interesting character, even if he does not say or reveal much about himself or Alexia's father. It leaves you wanting to know more about both.

The Templars are kind of jerks really, with their refusal to look at Alexia or acknowledge her because of her soulless state. I enjoyed learning a little more about what being soulless means and of course what her baby is going to be. I can't wait to learn more about what it means to be a soul stealer.

The reunion between Connall and Alexia was perfect. I fully enjoy her yelling at him and him doing whatever he can to make it better by meeting all of her demands and basically just being like "yes, dear" until they have to start making their getaway from Italy.

I enjoyed most of this book as it took place racing across France and then dealing with the Templars in Italy. However, I did not like the way Lord Maccon behaved and the way it basically obliterated Alexia’s work and personal life. The groveling from the man was nowhere near sufficient. But the adventure part was fun and the audiobook narration was good, so I can recommend “Blameless” overall. I am continuing the series with the hope that the next book is better.
