The amount of joy I get reading Carriger's books is unmatched. My partner had to put up with me stopping to read passages out-loud on a regular basis. I bought the next book immediately.
The biggest thoughts: 1. CONALL IS SO STUPID. Even Lyall, in his Beta way, is trying to make him snap out of it and realize he's totally wrong. 2. Does anyone *not* have a crush on Genevieve?
Alexia loses two sources of supernatural protection, and people are still trying to kill her. So she goes to the people who want to get rid of people like her and her husband. Logic, much? I get that the big bad Vamps can't really get you there, but it's a little frying pan-fire situation, Alexia. Good thing she has Floote on her side.
People are complaining about the ending, but in my opinion I don't think it warranted a fight. That wasn't the point. All the drama came from lack of communication and feelings of abandonment. How is fighting going to fix it at all?
Richy McRich-wolf still gets on my nerves, but I did admire his role in this book. I see you, Channing!
On that note, it's really hard to write about books in a series without spoiling anything. ><
4.5/5.

2nd Reading:
“I mean to say, really, I am near to developing a neurosis - is there anyone around who doesn't want to study or kill me?"
That quote is essentially the theme of the book. Spoilers below!
We pick up at the end of the last book where the huge shock ::gasp:: is that Alexia Maccon
Amazing. So, she's alone, the vampires want to kill her, scientists want to study her-inside AND out-it's a lot. Lady Woolsey has a lot of gumption, though and doesn't see problems-just hurdles to be crossed. I'm very excited to read what happens next. This is where I stopped the last time, but I think I'm in the right mood this time!

is very, very pregnant. Now, watching a pregnant, Italian, soulless, prego lady tromp about trying to stay alive and free is very entertaining-especially when her husband has just kicked her out because science says they shouldn't be able to have offspring....Amazing. There's really not much to say about the Parasol Protectorate series, or [b:Blameless|7719355|Blameless (Parasol Protectorate, #3)|Gail Carriger|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1293436281s/7719355.jpg|10463674] in general. I love the series and I love the writing. [a:Gail Carriger|2891665|Gail Carriger|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1257289860p2/2891665.jpg] makes her characters and her story so interesting to follow. They're such easy reads and just downright fun.
I will always recommend these to people who enjoy a fun, carefree read. A solid 4 stars.

Truthfully, I though this one was a little sillier than the last, though I continue to LOVE Madame Lefoux. I would love for her to have her own series. Amazing opportunity for some breakout F/F romance!
Just glad the two main characters are back together. Stupid breakup.

I'm still loving these books. As you can probably tell by the fact that I've read two in two days. And I have the next one ordered. They're so much fun, so inventive and I'm desperate to know what's going to happen to Alexia next. As the cast of characters expands, the series gets stronger and stronger. I might need to get book 5 ordered now in preparation...
Ok, Carriger has made up, slightly, for her last foray into the Alexia Tarabotti adventures with this one. The lore she has created in her story is the most interesting part of all (although, it bears repeating that there are some inconsistencies revolving around werewolves change and force-change) Professor Lyall gets the major B story in this book, revealing an interesting side to the pack we hadn't seen before. Can we just stick to his adventures in London please?
Liked it more than book two, slightly less than book one. These books are so much fun to read while snacking; it's awesome

Probably my favorite of the series so far. Happy reading!
