Another adorable, fun, and quirky book in the Once Upon a Con series. I needddd more of these ore I will forever be lonely!
Rosie is stuck. She's stuck in her small town, in the wake of her mother's death, and stuck on her ticket out: her college essay. The one thing that always ways on her is the death of her mother. The only thing she had to remember her by, a collection of Starfield books, was sold to pay for hospital bills.
Vance Reigns is Hollywood royalty... but also a scandal with a British accent. After some trouble involving a car, paparazzi, and bad press, Vance is forced to move with his uncle to a town in the middle of nowhere. It couldn't get worse.
Rosie and Vance accidentally run into each other when Rosie breaks into his (seemingly abandoned house) and ends up destroying a priceless book. In order to pay it off she has to help Vance organize the houses library... a large (and exciting for Rosies) task.
Ax they spend more time together, they slowly begin to see they may not be who they thought they were!
This was such a heartwarming book. It made me so happy! It was witty, hilarious, and super well written. I can't get enough of this series!

This is a fun light read. It’s not as good as the Seven Year Slip or Deas Romantics. This is also a YA book.

Vance and Rosie were an interesting couple and I enjoyed reading their scenes together. However, I think the book falls a little TOO far into the mega-fan genre for me. Clearly, the author is appreciative of how fan culture can be a fun experience and isn’t something to be embarrassed about. But because the book/movie series that is popular in this book is a made up one and I don’t know much about it, it made the book hard to enjoy. It almost felt like the book was more about this fictional story than about the characters at times.

remember the iconic 2010 disney channel movie called starstruck ??? well this book is basically the movie. the only difference is that instead of having iconic pop star christopher wilde we have hollywoods famous vance reigns and instead of midwestern girl, jessica olson, visiting her grandparents we have rosie thorn, small town girl, who is obsessed with the tv show that vance reigns stars in.
listen did i enjoy this book ??? that's questionable. it felt like something that would've been written on wattpad back in 2010-2013. not saying that's a bad thing but it felt very cringy which sucks because the only reason why i bought this book was because the author is ashley poston. yes. the same ashley poston that wrote the dead romantics (which i absolutely loved btw.) to be fair she wrote this book before the dead romantics so that goes to show that writing can get better !!!
anyways vance and rosie are in high school. she's obsessed with books and he's a hollywood actor. y'all can picture the rest. i will say that if you DO like pop culture references in books, this is the one for you. sooooooooo many pop culture references are used in the book and i rolled my eyes every time i read one.
this was a very easy read. i don't really have anything else to say about it. the only good thing that came out of reading this book was the fact that it helped me remember about starstruck.
