I really enjoyed Sariah and Justus' love story--a child free by choice career woman in he late 30s and a mature 40-something single dad. We need more stories like these. But don't get it twisted--these two got down! Kasha Thompson is good for the hot and heavy. Only thing I would've really enjoyed--the playing up of the workplace/forbidden romance element. Can't wait for book 3 in the series. Will there be a third book? Lmao.

I am truly loving this series.  This book was as good as the first one, and I loved how we get brief updates on the previous couple.  This book is probably going to my one of my top books.  I loved how it features a woman who ends up owning a basketball team, and a black woman at that.  Justice and Sariah was the perfect match.  I loved how mature they were.  I loved Sariah and how she dealt with the problems that were thrown at her.  It had me all in my feels, and I devoured it as soon as it hit my kindle.  This author has become one of my auto favorites and autobuy authors.  And the banter between them was to die for.  I absolutely loved it.  I can't wait for the author's next book.

I received a copy of the book via the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.

Put me in coach!

Sariah never expected to inherit her father’s beloved basketball team but now that she has she’s got little time to learn the business, the game, and who she can trust. Justus never expected to find love again but when Sariah asks him to coach her on the game he can’t help but fall for her.

I loved, loved, loved that Justus absolutely respected Sariah and her status as a business woman as well as being unafraid to admit when he caught feelings. The journey of Sariah’s grief was wonderfully handled and added an another emotional layer to her path to HEA with Justus.

But my two favorite things about Jump Ball were:
1. These were grown people, he’s over 40 and she’s almost 40, acting like grown people! No silly miscommunication or refusal to be honest, just a touch of a freeze out but I felt it was justified. And their physical connection and intimacy was clear and HOT!
2. Justus’ relationship with and parenting of his twin daughters.

Tropes and content you’ll find in Jump Ball
Sports romance
Single Dad Romance
He falls first
Several detailed sex scenes
Death of a parent and sibling
Grief journey

I’m so excited for the next book!

“Jump Ball” by Kasha Thompson, the engaging second installment in the Las Vegas Ramblers series, is a romance that intricately laces together themes of grief, empowerment, and love. This narrative follows Sariah as she grapples with the sudden loss of her father, Grover Thornton, the esteemed owner of the Ramblers. Unexpectedly inheriting his basketball team, Sariah finds herself in uncharted waters, navigating her grief and the complexities of the sport. Her beacon in these trying times is Coach Justus, who not only becomes her behind-the-scenes guide in understanding basketball but also, quite unexpectedly, her confidant and the person who understands the intricacies of her heart.

Thompson crafts a story that is both tender and empowering, focusing on Sariah’s journey of self-discovery and resilience. The depiction of Sariah as a powerful, intellectually sharp woman who doesn’t shy away from showcasing her wit is both refreshing and inspiring. The author adeptly handles the theme of grief, portraying it with authenticity and sensitivity, and reminding readers that the process is indeed nonlinear and deeply personal.

The chemistry between Justus and Sariah is pure, with Thompson deftly capturing the genuine connection and mutual respect that blossoms into love. The romance is beautifully developed, with just the right balance of sweetness and intensity, ensuring that readers are fully invested in their relationship.

One of the book’s strengths lies in Thompson’s writing style, which is both engaging and evocative. The author provides a seamless blend of unproblematic romance and spicy scenes, making “Jump Ball” a compelling read for those who appreciate a good love story without the often-associated tropes that can detract from the narrative’s authenticity.

Overall, “Jump Ball” is a testament to Thompson’s ability to weave a story that is as much about finding love as it is about self-discovery and overcoming adversity. It’s a celebration of strength, both on the basketball court and in the realm of personal growth. Fans of the genre will find much to admire in Thompson’s storytelling, making “Jump Ball” a must-read for those seeking a romance that is both sweet and substantial.
