4.5⭐️ Let me just start this review by saying I absolutely LOVED this trilogy. It will live on in me forever. The writing style is unique and Robin Hobb is a genius. The characters are lovable and the plot flows so well. That said, this book took me almost an entire month to get through! The chapters are sooooo long and I found myself not wanting to pick it back up, or becoming distracted really easily. It’s probably me, but there’s a lot of detail here that made the book way longer than necessary. Altogether, I loved the outcome, the prose, the plot along the way, and I would highly recommend this entire trilogy (plus any other Robin Hobb book) to anyone who loves classic epic fantasy. It may just take a hot minute to get through it, but worth the effort.
