I’m enjoying the overall plot of this series and the first 100ish pages, and the last 100ish pages were great, but the middle 200ish pages felt very repetitive and slow. I love narratives that have a good balance of character and plot development, and bonus points if the plot points enhance the character development, but this is not that kind of book. The character development feels quite separate from any parts of the book that move the plot forward, and that didn’t really jive with what I wanted from this book. Most of the character development in this book comes from backstory and plot points in previous books of this series that are rehashed with this POV, that just made the middle half of this book feel fairly stagnant.
I’m also starting to feel like every book in this series follows the same pattern: the POV character is either new or estranged from the pack and has to be brought into (or back into) the fold. It was fun in the first book, and kinda interesting in the second book, but the third time feels very tedious, and I feel like the final book in this series is probably going to follow the same pattern.

pretty much a guilty pleasure series for me at this point? I enjoyed it a lot despite thinking it’s pretty much nonsense much of the time, definitely better than the last one though, and actually really compelled to listen to the next/final one. I mostly find the attempt at jokes and the writing of pretty much all the women and minor characters to be a bit grating at best but also the central romance was nice and I didn’t hate the whole amnesia plot so, good job there I guess
