Romantic Suspense heavily on the romance side. The chemistry between the MCs was burning and their banter was good.

Hot Pursuit is the eleventh book in the Black Knights Inc. series and it was amazing! Christan and Emily were great together and their banter is absolutely hilarious. I enjoyed the suspense, action, and romance in this book immensely. I can't wait to find out who spider is!! Emily and Christan got their happy ending and I hope to see more of Ace and Rusty in the next book.
Can't wait for Angels book:)
**I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Christian is a former SAS for her Majesty‘s royal army, with a past he keeps to himself and a big mystery to everyone as to why he is with BKI’s, even though he is a valued member of the team! Emily is a fairly recent addition to the BKI family. As a former CIA management specialist, she comes in as their office manager, not only managing the spec ops but also the bike shop. Their constant bickering and jabbing has led them to finally realize that they have both been interested in one another since the moment I laid eyes on each other! Now, as they are stuck in England, Christina’s past comes back to haunt them as they are trying to get back to the states from their endeavors to finally find the mysterious and deadly Spider.

I've loved the previous books in this series but this was seemed like it ran out of story. I was actually bored in the middle with all the dialogue. I guess I prefer a more action packed story and this one wasn't for me. Christian and Emily had a love hate relationship that was in denial. I think I enjoyed Angel better and wanted his story instead.
I'm still going to continue this series as the back story is still to be finished.

Three and a half stars.

I haven't read the last few books in this series but I really enjoyed the books I had read so when I saw this available for review I was eager to see how the series had progressed.

Our BKI boys are in England, holed up in a cottage in Cornwall, and tensions are running high between Christian Watson, former British SAS soldier, and Emily Scott the team's office manager. But Christian has some murky secrets in his past and when they come back to haunt him the team is in trouble as both the press and enemies pursue him.

This story takes place over a few days, it's tight and tense with the team being pursued across South-West England whilst trying to discover the identity of the mysterious Spider. As always Julie Ann Walker writes a gripping thriller with gritty characters from tortured backgrounds - what you want from these kind of thriller romances.

However, being British I have to take umbrage at Christian's language. Julie Ann Walker appears to have looked up some British words and liberally sprinkled them throughout Christian's speech without regard for the regional provenance, historical usage, meaning or Christian's upbringing. So, for example, at one point they put a "dustbin" besides someone in case they are sick, a dustbin is something you keep outside which contains all your household rubbish - unless the guy is projectile vomiting a wastebin is more usual. Christian often uses the word "feckin" - that is used almost exclusively by the Irish (and sometimes the Scots), not English people. Christian talks about his mother cashing her government support checks at the pub, it should be her dole cheques (note the English spelling). Christian talks about going off in his "drawers", unless he's in a regency romance he should be talking about his pants or his Calvin Kleins. He also says he didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea and give Emily "poppycock" about things, poppycock means rubbish, gibberish so the sentence doesn't make sense. None of this should make any difference for non-British readers but it was jarring to this reader when a former SAS soldier brought up in relativity poverty and in a rough area speaks like a little old lady from an historical romance!

Setting aside my linguistic issues, I enjoyed this book, it was fast-paced and the characters were engaging, although I didn't quite grasp how they discovered the identity of Spider - that seemed a little bit too convenient, although I may have to reread that bit to confirm.

As always the little hints as to the next character to star in their own book were intriguing.

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Bumped for release.

Getting the heck out of dodge. Christian and Emily are stuck in England with the rest of their team after a failed mission. Every time they try to leave something happens. This is one hot romance with plenty of action.

Throughout the BKI series, Emily and Christian have been feuding. Everyone seems to know it's a prelude to romance except the two of them. Now, everything is coming to a head. The team is in England after the last book. They're laying low but are suddenly inundated with reporters. Someone, probably Spider, has tipped off the press that Christian is the former British SAS who was accused of starting a gunfight. The brothers of one of the men who died are out for revenge.
This is one of those rare books that would have been better as a novella. There just wasn't really enough to fill a whole story. I was so ready to read their story and then just didn't get a lot of anything.

Welcome to Black Knights Inc.
What appears to be a tricked-motorcycle shop on the South Side of Chicago is actually headquarters for the world's most elite covert operatives. Deadly, dangerous, and determined, they'll steal your breath and your heart.

Fighting for his life is pretty much standard operating procedure for Christian Watson, former SAS officer. Doing it with bossy, beautiful BKI office manager Emily Scott in tow is another matter entirely.

Actual rating: 3.5 stars!

So this picks up almost immediately after the events in Fuel for Fire. It was pretty interesting to see Christian, Emily and co., trying to get out of England while trying to be essentially invisible. I did like the way that although they were stealing and causing distractions, they always did the best they could to avoid casualties.

Christian was awesome. He was sweet, protective and so damn yummy! GAH! I loved that he has his team members backs and was trying his hardest to defuse an almost impossible situation as bloodlessly as possible, yet when it came to it, he did what needed to be done. I did kind of hate how he tried to blame himself though. Not saying there shouldn't be some regret, but really, Lawrence was too far gone. Nothing Christian or anyone said or did was going to help. So I'm glad Emily was there to smack some sense into him about that.

Speaking of Emily, I was right there, rooting for her. At least for a while. In the beginning, she was sweet and tough and while it frustrated her, she at least mildly acknowledged that she wasn't as trained as the others and that they might know just a little more than she did. But she dropped several points in my book when she told Christian why she couldn't fall in love with him.
SpoilerI mean seriously, she's cursed because she didn't say "I love you" to a guy? A guy might I point out who became extremely clingy and controlling while they were dating and turned into a whiny mess when they broke up? I would have left too. I'll admit that maybe Emily didn't have the best examples growing up, but because of the fact that she realized it, I think she should have seen she wasn't going to be like them. Thankfully Christian did.
I thoroughly enjoyed Christian's quest to get Emily to admit her feelings. I did wish someone would smack her after they'd gotten back to BKI; she was being an utter bitch. I'm glad she finally not only acknowledged her feelings, but admitted them and listened to everyone about giving this a shot. She was right about one thing: It does end with her.

Rusty and Ace certainly provided some entertainment. And bouts of me wishing someone would knock their heads together. I felt bad for Ace as he was telling Rusty about his husband. And Rusty's past clearly is difficult too. I wish those two would get their own book.
