The only redeemable character is the cat, and even that doesn't make up for how much I dislike everyone else.

Omen Bites picks up where Spells Trouble left off.Marcy and Hunter are still struggling with the death of their mother but the town is in danger and the ancient trees are still damaged. But with everything that is going on and has happened the girls' relationship is strained. I really enjoyed the first but I was really excited to get the chance to read this book! I liked that I was able to get to know the characters more in this book! With the dual point of views and more character building I really felt like I could relate to the characters this time around! The world building is just as beautiful as the first time around! I am really looking forward to see what the next book brings us!

This world is so much fun, and the writing really makes me feel like I’m in it! This book left off with a cliffhanger that I was NOT prepared for, and I will be not so patiently waiting for the next book! These characters are so well-written & the plot is so good! I have been pleasantly surprised by this series so far!

Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review

Omens Bite is the second book in the “Sisters Of Salem” series and it follows Mercy and Hunter, two twin sisters and witches who guard the five gates to mythological underworlds. This book picks up where book one ended and the relationship between the sisters is more strained than it ever was. They are being separated for the first time in their life and it creates many conflicts that they will have to fix and get through.
First of all, this book had a very interesting plot and every single witchy book has a plus point from me because it’s something I love to read about. I also thought that the magical aspect was well thought out and presented nicely to us readers. But, what irked me the most about Omen’s Bite and the first book too is the dialogue. Some of it was super cringey and the amount of “Sheesh” was waayyy to much for me. I get that the authors probably wanted to make these teenagers more realistic but phrases like that are never something I like to encounter when I read a book.
When it comes to the romance part I was also not a big fan. I didn’t root for any of the couples, especially Khento and Mercy. Jax and his love interest were rushed as well. To conclude the romantic relationships are a mess and I don’t like them. I blame the dialogue on this too.
Everything else was fine and this is a super fast paced read. The epilogue was fantastic and it was the best part of this book for sure. I could read short chapter like that one for days and not get bored. It was very well done! In the end I enjoyed reading this and I’m interested in reading the third book and seeing how things are gonna play out for Hunter and Mercy!

Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for the advanced copy for review. All opinions are my own.
I tried. I really did, but I think this will be my last PC & Kristin Cast book. The characters, story, plot, etc is just all so unlikeable.
Some of the conversations felt more like a history lesson and a question and answer dialogue than just easily revealing the history of everything. The sisters are terrible and once again one of them uses British slang, but they're supposed to be in rural Kansas or something. It's just so out of place and honestly just dumb to have her use it.
So once again. This will be my last one by these authors.

I really enjoyed the plot and side character development of this second installment in the Sister of Salem series from PC and Kristin Cast. Mercy and Hunter are such believable, empathetic teens. Their relationship drama and angst were the real heart of the story for me. I absolutely loved Mercy and Xena's dynamic in this book, and the focus on the best friend friendships while the sisters were at odds. For some reason, I thought this was a duology, not a trilogy, so I was very surprised by the massive cliffhanger ending. The stakes are higher in this one, and Kirk and Amphitrite add plenty of tension.
Really looking forward to seeing how this story wraps up. Thank you so much to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for the e-arc.

I liked this one so much more than the first one.
They toned down the "teen slang" and it just felt like it flowed Better.
And the story was had a lot more going on. Makes me excited for the next one
There are some things that might be a little triggering in it tho.

I love this series so far! This book kept me on my toes. The ending lacked suspense per say, kind of just ended ubruptly. I cannot wait for the 3rd and final book to be released the end of January 2023
