The quest of Ready Player One combined with the world building of Stephen King or Michael Chabon mixed with the quick pace of a Michael Crichton book… hyper fantasy/insanity of how messed up the world is today. Jeffrey Epstein stand-ins and Parkland survivors and opioid millionaires and more. This was a RIDE, and close to a 5 star rating for me. I had a lot of fun reading it but wish the ending had more of a point. So many characters that it was hard to connect to any of them.

I was nervous going into this one once I realized what it was about. There maybe should be more of a trigger warning in the synopsis. However I cannot think of a more perfect way to describe how the past few years have felt for me. This book provided some unexpected catharsis and I’m glad I picked it up.
