I really enjoyed reading Adina’s thoughts on what it is to be human. And I agree - it’s made up of all the little things that we can easily pass by without notice, the mundane wonders and daily muses. The structure of the writing was unique, a bit disjointed, but it worked for me. All the characters felt super real and helped to give us a wider view into Adina as the quirky little alien she is.

Woof. A vestibule. Better a short story.

I would absolutely not consider this book within the science fiction genre. It is somewhat adjacent maybe or possibly just an unreliable narrator. I found the prose in this book very interesting and thought provoking but did not enjoy the blunt disconnectedness. It took a long time to get invested but about halfway the story picks up and starts to make more sense. Overall, I felt like there was a lot of inferring that I didn't fully follow throughout the story and those holes left me frustrated with the plot often. A lot of the statements that I assume were meant to be profound seemed to be slightly overdone or not as unique as they were supposed to come across as. I will continue to think about Adina's perspective nonetheless.

Interesting premise (girl who thinks she’s an alien) but it didn’t quite get there for me. Had potential but I didn’t connect to the characters. Also it left me with some questions
