This book really helped me with approaching tasks when you're a perfectionist that may or may not have ADHD, that finds it difficult to start a task because your brain overheats and produces error codes

This was so interesting. I think most people were raised to think this daily chores were truly chores. We use care acts and the 'basic adult responsibilities' as punishment in childhood so no wonder so many people find adulting hard. It was nice to see the perspective of you are enough and not doing the dishes immediately is not laziness. However! I will seek other 'self-help' things to get all the things done. But this was nice to realize that you deserve rest and we don't clean for other people. We sweep cause we don't like stuff sticking to our feet or we do dishes to keep the air and such free of germs. Don't think that you need to keep a perfect clean house to impress your mother/mother in law. Do what works for you and find your reason for doing these tasks. It's not a crime to leave your pajamas unfolded. Also putting time limits on yourself and goals within reason; a nice reminder. And I really felt her on the whole making a ritual cause if not I will rabbit hole and get zero done/accomplished.

A good thing I learned for the Balance app is coupling things. By doing meditation before brushing your teeth or doing the dishes while listening to a daily playlist or game on alexa means you are less likely to forget to do things.

I feel like growing up it is common to have these care tasks used as punishment (@donna our baby sitter that made us clean all the time, you the real trauma queen)

Basically this book says do what works for you and don't apologize, especially if it works for you and your life.
