So many great twists! You think you have it figured out just to be thrown another curve ball! Really enjoyed this but could’ve been a bit shorter some parts definitely dragged on.
This book started off strong and I expected to love this tangled web of marriage gone wrong and happily ever after turned into I hope you die before me. As it went on and veered away from the dysfunctional marriage and headed more into the lives of the cops working the investigation and the daily ins and outs of police work the less interested I became. When I finally made it to the reveal I was a bit let down at the unbelievability of it all.

2,5/5. Haven't had much luck with thrillers lately.
I really liked this book until about 3/4 of the way through... and then the police procedural turned into an exposition about what happened from the point of view of one of the characters (not a detective). Also, there was an extra story line that seemed unnecessary (even if it was interesting) and that also wrapped up a little too quickly/neatly with a character telling the story out of the blue. It just felt lazy, like teasing out the story would be too hard so let's just get it out of the way. Great plot, great twists and turns but disjointed and disappointing.

The narration of the audiobook is kind of weird/overdramatic and I just generally am not caring about the story. Might consider revisiting the e-book at some point but for now it's a DNF.
It was marketed as a Gone Girl-esque book which I can see how that comparison is being made. However, I want to read something that's going to fuck me up the way GG did, not just read the same story again? After about an hour in I was like, if this is what I'm getting I should just go read the source material instead.

4.5/5 stars! I started guessing the first twist about halfway through but didn’t see the other ones coming. Really enjoyed this book and it’s a quick read.
Very good and suspenseful. Keeps you guessing till the end and the twists are shocking.
