I sped through this book the first time I read it because I NEEDED answers, so it was cool to actually slow down and enjoy it more. I definitely appreciated some of the plot points more in hindsight! It’s a super important book for character growth and I’m so excited as I keep getting closer to finally reading book 5!

Lukas is the main love intrest. Elloren choose him, but they have a few interactions between them where she feels unsafe aftwards. In the start I liked Lukas but as time went on I started realizing that he is a tampon (AKA Tamlin from ACOTAR).

There is one interaction as an example that put me off completely, he took her to a museum, they played music together, afterward he kissed her, she felt her magic and it was a little too overwhelming,  she tried to push him away and told him no, he forced himself more onto her. She finally got him to stop, he wasn't pleased with her and she felt unsafe afterwards. And in the end of the story they "fell in love"... I will not be continuing this story, if a guy isn't respectful, it's a no thank you and move along.

It was good but it also had some fanfiction vibes that I was not a fan of.
