Short and sweet! I love a quick read that has a message. Love is selfless and realizing the gift it truly is to love unselfishly.

The Gift of the Magi is one of my favorite stories from my youth. I have no idea where or when I first encountered this touching and meaningful story, but it seems to inhabit my earliest memories. The husband and wife who each sacrifice what is dearest to them so that the other can have a wonderful Christmas, only to discover that each has given up what the other hoped to beautify, is a marvelous lesson about love and companionship.

A cute little story about giving with love, gifts that from the heart.

A couple in dire financial circumstances each sacrifices their most prized possession to buy a gift for the other, resulting in a heartwarming and unexpected conclusion.

One of the classic stories, this is a perfect lesson to learn. Sacrifice is the ultimate gift of love. The gift from the heart is better than any gift from a store.

When I asked my mom what my favorite holiday books were, she immediately started reminiscing about reading The Gift of the Magi to me and my sister and how none of us saw the ending coming. We were all so surprised! I reread it on the plane ride to DC and it is just as magical now as it was then.
