I don't know how Rachel Caine does it. She can create book after book and still keep the story fresh and alive. This is one series that never gets boring and keeps me excited for the next.
Right from the start, we get what we have been longing to feel for what seems like forever...NEKKID SHANE! (no, he really isn't, but we can keep hoping) Oh, how i had missed his humor and snide remarks.
"Look, ask him, okay? This is girl talk. I don't do girl talk." She punched him in the shoulder. "Ass." "That's better. I was starting to feel like we should go shoe shopping or something." "Next you'll be all Me, Tarzan, you, Jane!" "I've seen you stick arrows in vampires. Not too damn likely I'd be thumping my chest and trying to tell you I wear the loincloth around here."
The dialogue always keeps me entertained.
"If you screw it up with Claire, I'll rip your throat out and drink you like a juice box, so you've got some incentive." (Michael to Shane)
In Last Breath, Michael and Eve are planning their wedding. Oliver has warned Claire that they need to call it off and people don't agree with it. This puts Claire in a bad position.
One night, Naomi comes to the house asking for Michael. Claire is hesitant about this newcomer and questions Michael's love for Eve and their near future vows. Eve has known he wasn't totally comfortable with getting married and he kept worrying and thinking that it was cold feet.
There have been disappearances popping up in Morganville. There is a new evil that has came and is determined to destroy everyone in Morganville, living and breathing.
All the characters are back and still are amazing as ever. The plot is solid and the action was great. The "Glass House Four" as I like to refer to them as, have developed a deeper family relationship. I love their commitment to one another. I loved Eve even more in Last Breath. She was amazing in the other books, but I think she has changed and I like it.
There are a few new characters that are introduced and are relevant in the storyline. Good or bad, they equal excitement and intrigue. We get a new perspective on Amelie. With pressure pressing down and a feeling of defeat, Amelie makes decisions that alter the existence of Morganville forever.
The ending of Last Breath had me all sorts of excited! Drool worthy and touching at the same time. *sigh* I can't wait to see what Rachel Caine brings in the next installment. I wouldn't expect anything but amazing once again.

Rachel Caine is an absolute genius because u wud think by the 11th book in a series u wud b getting bored but that isn't possible with this excited new addition to the Morgan Vill's :) an amazing read I totally loved it, it was very sad at one point in particular so I will rate that in tissues (how sad it was out of ten) ten tissues it took before I stopped crying so be warned.
- Claire
I could not believe what happened to Claire. I have loved Claire's character from the beginning and I still do. She is just so fearless and amazing!
- Shane
I absolutely love Shane. He made me cry through this book which made me love him even more than I did, which I didn't know was possible. My heart belongs to him.
- Michael
I couldn't believe what Frank said to Michael. I also couldn't believe Michael admitted it to himself, I never knew he thought that way about Claire in the beginning. But I know he truly loves Eve and doesn't see Claire like that now and would never do anything with her that would hurt Shane.
- Eve
Eve is still very hilarious. I love her character. What can I say? I absolutely love all the characters in this book.
Overall, I loved this book and cannot was for the next book. This was a great installment to the series and I'm glad we got to see through everyone's point of view, including Amelie.

Well I was right in my review of the last book when I guessed there would be something big, this book certainly delivers on the apocalyptic front. The town is falling apart, the vampires are scared, which is dangerous. Shane is definitely growing up and loosing a little of that prejudice against vampires (not all but some atleast). Myrnin is the best, he is sweet and will 100% fight for what he believes in, he is the best character. there is betrayal, loss and suffering with just a dash of hope. This book ends on a cliffhanger, but either way I would be reading the next book, have to see how it all ends.
Thank you, Rachel Caine, for effectively tearing my heart to pieces.
Also, the last half of the very last page?....wow.

"This is going to rock. Probably in all the wrong ways."
OMG where to start!?
This is the first book that has multiple POV.
Claire
Of course we're in Claire's head! I mean, c'mon, it's my favorite place! and seeing things in her POV was just...nice. I like being with her.
Shane
Yikes. Not my favorite place to be. With each novella I seem to like him less. But with this one, it was what he went through NOT himself (per se) that I didn't like.
It was bittersweet to be in his head this time
Amelie
Ugh, the founder. We've slowly seen her change over these last few books. She's had to really become who she was before in order to keep Morganville save. When I started this series, I liked her. When she started forcing Claire to work under ridiculous circumstances, she made me mad. This book, I absolutely despise her.
Michael and Eve seem to be lumped in as an after thought and I didn't mind their chapters at all either.
But be ready to be blown away by this one. So many surprises, so many reasons to throw the book. but stick with it - it's worth it in the end

The first book in which Rachel Caine writes from lots of the popular Morganvilles people's POVs, This book is just fantastic with amazing twists.
In most series' by the time you get to book 11, the characters and the story starts to loose its appeal. However Morganville is just as strong as ever. Thank you Rachel Caine.
